This is the emanation of glorious Vajrasattva himself, and due to his blessing, it naturally arises and naturally exists in the realms of the four continents. Now, in accordance with the experiences of yogis, its essence appears clearly without obscuration, which is a symbol of the empty and clear, non-grasping nature of one's own mind. The appearance of various lights, shapes, colors, etc., symbolizes the diverse and unimpeded manifestation of everything in nature. By looking with squinted eyes, one can see the five lights shining without mixing. The compassion residing clearly within this symbolizes that wisdom resides in the center of one's heart in the form of five lights. Nothing can symbolize it except this clear Manshel, and it symbolizes seeing the true meaning without inversion, as it is. Then, holding the Manshel up to the sun, the nature of the Manshel is clear and shining, but various curvatures appear, which symbolizes that for a yogi with curvatures, relying on various appearances of external objects, many grasping and misconstrued discriminations arise. Because there are five lights inside the Manshel, the five lights appear clearly without mixing due to its power, which symbolizes that the five lights of wisdom reside in the center of the inner citta (mind), and from this, the Vajra chain appears as five lights externally. Then, lighting a butter lamp on a low table and looking at the Manshel, one sees two appearances above and below, which symbolizes the meeting of the clear light mother and child, or symbolizes appearing as diverse. Combining the symbol with the example, the meaning of the symbol is clearly revealed before the senses, and this is the introduction. Furthermore, it is said in the tantra: The characteristics of appearance in the realm are, the sky is blue and clear without clouds, the light, color, and shape themselves, and the self-manifestation of the five wisdoms. On the lamp of the pure realm of space, bindus, forms, and confused appearances, without self-nature and without essence, show non-duality, without gathering and scattering.
