Generating joy through direct introduction to one's own state. Generating joy through direct introduction to one's own state. Secondly, generating joy through direct introduction to one's own state: O! Leave your present awareness as it is, without modification or manipulation. In it, existence and non-existence, and extremes, are not established. The patterns of appearance and emptiness are not distinguished. The characteristics of permanence and annihilation are not established. Remaining naturally in this very state, without the need for effort in view and meditation, is like untying a knot. It is the great, unfabricated, primordial liberation. It is the self-illumination that is not made up by the mind. It is the wisdom that is not fabricated by concepts. It is the nature of reality that is not tainted by view and meditation. It is the samadhi in which there is nothing to settle. It is the post-meditation that is beyond calculation. It is clarity without essence. It is vastness without straying. Such is the intention of the naturally abiding, primordial state, which all sentient beings have never been separated from for even a moment. However, just as water that is naturally free-flowing is bound by ice, the mind that grasps inwardly is the cause, and the objects that are grasped outwardly are the condition, thus wandering endlessly in samsara. Now, through the guru's instruction, from the mere recognition of the flaw in the moment of awareness, remaining without modifying, without distraction, and without meditating in the state of suchness, this alone is the clear and complete revelation of the essence of the intention of the primordial Buddha Samantabhadra. As it says in the "Six Spaces": "In the nature of mind, without permanence or annihilation, the appearance free from good and bad is the intention free from acceptance and rejection, I, Samantabhadra, have taught." "In the nature of mind, without acceptance or rejection, the appearance of self-liberation without bias is the intention of vast expanse, I, Samantabhadra, have taught." "In the nature of mind, without sinking or excitement, the intention of great equanimity is the intention of the six aggregates being relaxed, I, Samantabhadra, have taught." "In the nature of mind, without fear, the appearance free from hope and worry is the intention of primordial abiding with confidence, I, Samantabhadra, have taught." And as it says in the "Heap of Jewels": "This nature of reality without foundation, leaving it unfound is most wondrous. In the awareness that goes and comes, having no end is most wondrous. In the primordial, great wisdom, having no antidote is most wondrous." And as it says in the "All-Creating King": "Even the Buddhas of the past who have passed away, from their own minds"

There is no searching for Dharma elsewhere. Never have I altered anything from what it is. Never have I meditated on conceptual samadhi. One's own mind is accomplished through non-thought. Even present abiding and future arising, will be accomplished through non-conceptual equanimity. Thus, recognizing that the nature of mind has been self-liberated from the very beginning is rigpa (awareness). Because maintaining its continuity leads to forceful Buddhahood, it is faster than other paths, therefore, rejoice! Thus, joy is generated.
