Introducing the Manifestation of Cognition as the Play of Mind. Introducing the Manifestation of Cognition as the Play of Mind. Secondly, introducing the manifestation of cognition as the play of mind: Thus, in the clear and non-conceptual state of mind, do not engage in welcoming or rejecting the thoughts that arise from the unceasing display of spontaneous awareness. Do not alter its abiding. Do not obstruct its manifestation. Do not fabricate equality. Without affirmation or negation, acceptance or rejection, allow the thoughts that arise to naturally relax in their own spontaneous state. Just as waves are the play of the ocean, not separate from the nature of the ocean, and subside and dissolve into the depths of the ocean; just as salt arises from water and dissolves into water; just as a snake's knot unravels without any antidote, so the collection of thoughts is the play of dharmata, not separate from the nature of dharmata, and subsides and dissolves into the depths of dharmata, or simply by arising, without relying on any antidote, it naturally liberates into the depths of the primordially pure dharmata. That is to say, as it is said in the Tantra of the Wondrous King: "Just as the waves of the ocean, all the movements of the waves of the mind, dissolve into the primordial ocean of the ground." And as Saraha says: "Just as salt dissolves into water, so the mind dissolves into its own nature." And as it is said in the Compendium of Thoughts: "Just as the awareness that arises, like a snake's knot, is self-liberated." And so on. Introducing the Manifestation of Cognition as the Play of Mind.
