Introducing the Emptiness of Mind. Introducing the Emptiness of Mind. Secondly, introducing the emptiness of mind: Because mind itself is originally free from the eight extremes of elaboration—arising and ceasing, permanence and annihilation, coming and going, one and many—and cannot be established as "this" anywhere, nor can it be represented by anything, therefore, mind is definitely emptiness. Having been introduced in this way, one will gain certainty that it transcends the intellect of thought and is free from the words of expression. As it is said in "Vast Expanse of Clarity": "By looking back at the very one that moves, without abandoning, it is self-liberated, like a hailstorm." And as it is said in "Limitless Bliss": "The nature of mind, without a root, cannot be found by searching, there is no object to grasp. As it is, primordially, in a state of emptiness, inexpressible, self-arisen wisdom." So it is. Introducing the Emptiness of Mind.
