Examining the Destination and the Traveler. Examining the Destination and the Traveler. Third, examining the destination and the traveler: Afterwards, regarding this mind that appears like a rainbow and then vanishes, no matter how much we examine its destination—whether it's outer or inner, vessel or essence, appearance or emptiness, existence or non-existence, etc.—since there is no destination, we become certain that the appearance of external objects is created by the mind. When we examine the mind of the traveler, since it cannot be pinpointed, we gain confidence that the object-possessor has no inherent nature. Because the causes of the mind and mental events—abiding, going, and coming—are empty, the mind that clings to hopes and doubts about results is reversed. Because we know that the nature of mind is awareness, emptiness, and great compassion, free from going, coming, liberation, delusion, etc., we gain confidence that we cannot attain Buddhahood through contrived dharmas. The mind to be observed, the observer who observes, and the destination where the mind goes are all beyond thought, speech, and intellect. Without identifying separate entities and distinct forms, we cut through superimpositions. Thus, as a sign of the mind being trained and mastered, the nest of delusion collapses, and the house of the mind crumbles. Knowing the essence of awareness and finding conviction from within, awareness, clear and empty, is firmly established, unwavering from its own nature. This is meeting the continuous stream of the Buddha's manifested body. Through this, we discern all dualistic phenomena such as appearance and emptiness, arising and ceasing, and by exposing flaws, we collectively purify the mental obscurations of the mind. Because we realize the emptiness of mind, we are not obstructed by obstacles. In particular, because the mind's clinging is reversed, we will not be deluded into samsara again. Ultimately, we are liberated into great indivisibility with the Dharmakaya. The mind and intellect are perfected in the Vajra Heart, and thus we will enter into Nirvana.
