Rubbing. Rubbing. Third is rubbing. Place a twig or something similar in front as a sign or object of focus. By uttering Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) melodiously, a continuous chain of Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) emanates from the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) in the heart. Starting from the base of the object of focus, gradually wrap it with Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) until reaching the tip. Then, fix the previous Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) like a spear, direct awareness towards it, and slowly sing the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) song. Again, unravel it like a snake, merging one into another, focus on the state of becoming one Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), and remain for a moment. When feeling weary, visualize it dissolving back into the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) in the heart, or like a snake unraveling, entering one after another, completely gathering into the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) in the heart, and then rest. In this way, by uniting the three—wind, mind, and Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽)—and practicing going out and returning within, as a sign of maturing on the path, the body will sway, and a state of half-sleep and half-wakefulness will arise. The force of thoughts subsides, awareness becomes clear, and one feels liberated. Having attained the merit of thoroughly taming the mind, one will be able to transform the object of focus at will. Rubbing.
