General teaching. General teaching. Secondly, there are two ways to distinguish them, internal and external. First, the external way of distinguishing them has two aspects: general and specific. First, the general teaching is, as stated in the "Teachings to the Son": "First, in order to reverse the attachment of body, speech, and mind, one should first begin to practice." As it is said, in order not to be stained by the seventh root downfall, secretly go to places where there is no traffic and no sight or hearing of people, such as empty valleys, deep forests, and mountain slopes, offer tormas to the local earth deities, and ask for their blessings not to create obstacles for chaotic behavior. In order to cut off all the illusions of samsara arising from karma and conditions, one should externally separate the camps of samsara and nirvana. That is, in order to accomplish the benefit of all sentient beings as infinite as motherly space, separate the three doors of karmic appearance samsara and the camps of nirvana, and resolve never to return to samsara again. With this firm intention, engage in various actions of the three doors, and when the appearance of fatigue arises, look at the nature of the subsequent consciousness of unwavering certainty, and then rest. General teaching.
