What to abandon is, as stated in 'Self-Arisen': 'A disciple who lacks the vessel, is of little wisdom, good at flattery, and greatly concerned with appearances. Eloquent in speech but poor in action, greatly deceitful and cunning. Violates the words of the guru, disputes kindness. Does not see virtues, but finds faults. With an evil lineage and nature, despises kindness and praises oneself. The practice of vows and commitments is improper. Does not examine the disciple, considers the teacher an enemy. To a person who does not practice, the empowerment of the Great Perfection, its meaning and instructions, should not be shown.' This means those who are of little wisdom and ungrateful, good at superficiality and flattery, praising to the face and scolding behind the back, eloquent in speech but poor in action, deceitful and cunning, who do not respect the guru's teachings and do not listen to advice, do not see virtues but find faults, repay kindness with harm, like to sow discord, praise themselves and argue about merits, and are full of anger and stinginess, do not abide by vows and commitments, and whose practice and conduct are improper, whose lineage and behavior are bad, who are disgusting to see and annoying to be with, are not vessels for the empowerment and instructions of the Great Perfection, so they should not be given. Even if given, not only will it not benefit, but they will become arrogant and conceited, becoming the cause of wrong views and non-virtue, the instructions will be distorted, the blessing will be diminished, and ultimately they will fall into the lower realms. As 'Vast Expanse of Clarity' says: 'Furthermore, this essence of the essential drop, if poured into a bad vessel, the vessel will break, the essence will spill, and one will fall into hell.'" 也就是说,对上师和诀窍具有欢喜的清净信心,追求意义且极其渴望的欲乐信心,以及毫无怀疑的", "english_translation": "What to accept is, as stated in 'Self-Arisen': 'Possessing the power of faith and great diligence, great wisdom and no attachment, great respect and practicing secret mantra, without conceptualization and no distraction in the mind, possessing commitments and diligent in practice.' And as 'Vast Expanse of Clarity' says: 'Possessing faith, compassion, and great generosity, a tamed mind, avoiding sin, sharp faculties, able to keep secrets, great in practice and asceticism, great in renunciation, endurance, and perseverance. This is the secret vessel of secret mantra, this nectar drop, the essence of the heart, should be shown to the supreme son.' That is to say, having pure faith that delights in the guru and instructions, faith that seeks meaning and desires it greatly, and without doubt" } ] ============================================================

Having unwavering faith, an ultimate and irreversible faith that cannot be changed by any circumstances; possessing unshakable mental strength due to having complete conditions for blessings to enter; having a firm commitment to diligence without procrastination or laziness; understanding the meaning of words and thus cutting off misinterpretations of the profound meaning of the ultimate reality; having turned away from attachment and clinging, thus not engaging the mind in the activities of samsara; single-mindedly serving with the three doors (body, speech, and mind); having severed the bonds of doubt, thus entering into the practice of profound secret mantra; having no ordinary wrong thoughts, thus not experiencing fear or dread in mantra practice; having little distraction, thus showing calmness in the three doors; having pure samaya (vows), thus not incurring faults or downfalls; being free from discouragement and laziness, thus easily generating experiences and realizations; having impartial pure perception and devotion; cherishing all beings with compassion and having great altruistic intention; being generous in accumulating merit; being free from wildness and agitation, and being peaceful and gentle; having great shame and hesitation towards sinful actions; being able to distinguish between Dharma and non-Dharma; being inseparable from practice and having conduct that does not degenerate; having little interest in worldly affairs and social interactions; having endurance for hardship in difficult practice and great perseverance in Dharma—these are the characteristics of a supreme vessel of secret mantra who has good karma and fortune, and is therefore worthy of receiving empowerments and instructions. Giving instructions to such a supreme son of the lineage will result in merit, and not giving them will result in faults. As it says in "Klong gsal": "Suitable as a vessel for the essence of secret mantra, a great son who guides beings." And in "Examination of the Vessel and Time of the Nyingtig": "If this is not shown to the place where it should be bestowed, the profound treasure of Dharma will be lost. If one does not show it when the time has come, the benefit of beings will be cut off and a downfall will occur." Furthermore, it is not only at one time, but after giving empowerment and guidance, the instructions should be given gradually, and only when one can have faith in the appearance of the clear light of wisdom and can make vows and commitments to practice should it be given completely. As it says in the same text: "After the empowerment and guidance are complete, between years and months, do not give it all at once, but give it gradually. When the student has grasped the essence of the bindu itself and can take the oath of practice, then give it completely." Characteristics of a disciple.
