Abridged Practice of the Thirty Arrogant Lords Abridged Practice of the Thirty Arrogant Lords ཧཱུྃ (hūṃ, 唵, om, seed syllable of wrathful deities). In the center of the charnel ground reveling palace before me, the powerful Mahadeva, with a blue-black body, wearing a black silk cloak, holding a curved knife and a skull cup filled with blood, riding a white snow lion. The great queen, Uma Devi, is blue-black, wearing a green cloak, and holding a skull cup filled with blood. In the east, Yama Raja, the Lord of Death, is black, with his consort, the great mother, the Death-Consuming Mother. In the south, the Digger, with a white chest, is black, with his consort, the great mother, the demoness Reti, black. In the west, the Rakshasa, black with a garland of lightning, is black, with his consort, the great mother, with a frog's head and red, bloodshot eyes. In the north, the Yaksha, Yaksha Me Bal, is black, with his consort, the Yaksha Monmo, black. Above, the great planetary demon is the color of smoke, with his consort, the great mother, the Sky Woman, a red hailstorm. Below, the Naga demon with nine heads is the color of smoke, with his consort, the great mother, the Yaksha, with a black body. Outside, in the upper east, Yar Lha Shampo is white; in the center of the east, Namtel is white; in the lower east, the general demon Gurum is white. In the upper south, the Mamo, the Queen of Existence, is black; in the center of the south, the mantra lord Ekajati is blue-black; in the lower south, the glorious black woman, the Swift One, is black. In the upper west, Wamchen Dorje Dudul is red; in the center of the west, Draktsen Sogzan is red; in the lower west, Tsen Gong Yamshud is red. In the upper north, the king of obstacles, Vinayaka, is black; in the center of the north, the Tirthika Kala is the color of eye medicine; in the lower north, the Mu demon, black and lusterless, is black. At the east gate, the great god Brahma is white; at the south gate, the great king Bera is white. At the west gate, the great body god Sangwa is white; at the north gate, the protector Mahakala is blue-black. With the power of clouds and various mounts, come here from your respective abodes and remain steadfast. Offering the seven articles of enjoyment and the five desirable qualities, the outer offering of the five desirable qualities and the seven articles of enjoyment. The inner offering is the supreme, fierce offering; the secret offering is medicine, alcohol, torma, union, liberation, and so on. By offering these, may we accomplish our wishes spontaneously, may outer and inner obstacles and adverse conditions be pacified, and may we be granted the accomplishments of the four activities.
