Heartfelt Words: A Necklace of Lapis Lazuli. Heartfelt Words: A Necklace of Lapis Lazuli. Hey! Look, I, the renunciate yogi, having entered the threefold discipline, act according to the Dharma. Having abandoned worldly affairs, I accomplish great meaning. Possessing the confidence of view, I roam freely in a state of ease, yet seeing and hearing my conduct, weariness arises in the mind. Although I have no progress in any practice myself, I am accompanied by dependent friends and Dharma-related companions, like a garuda soaring in the sky. Thinking, "I will practice at the great sacred site of Tsari," I generate great aspiration, bearing the burden of great meaning, and come here to discuss benefiting the world. No matter what profound intentions of benefit and happiness arise, such as the Dharma teachings and discipline for taming one's own mind, why is this stubbornness still present? At the root guru, the embodiment of all Sugatas, a good connection must be arranged from there. Whatever he does is good, whatever he says is valid, and so on. Expecting others to do what I myself do not possess is the self-will of a child. Likewise, wanting to tame others before taming oneself, wanting to liberate others before liberating oneself, is a mistake. To those who grasp at reality, appearances are confused; to those who are hateful, everything is an enemy; to those who are arrogant, there is a desire to be greater than others; to those who are jealous, there is a sense of competition and contempt; to those with little merit, happiness appears as suffering; when creating bad karma, various evil deeds appear; being controlled by demons, there is rudeness, conflict, and fighting; when merit is exhausted, there are angry words, resentment, curses, and so on, which appear in those who are foolish and deluded. In short, the nature of nirvanic bliss is tamed, peaceful, and liberated. Without even having an understanding of this, one keeps one's own faults intact and holds contempt for the virtues of others. One is unwilling to abandon even a little fault and has no virtues. Even so, one has superior thoughts, an unpleasant face, and a loud, harsh voice. The fire of the five poisons blazes, and evil thoughts rage like a storm. As a man, one engages in impure acts and indulges in afflictions. One does not keep vows, and the root of discipline is lost. One desires goodness but has evil conduct. Alas! What has become of our human body? Are we not beings with heavy evil karma? Or have we been seized by obstructing demons? Or is this a sign of the degenerate age of the five degenerations? May the guru and the Three Jewels have compassion!

Are you small? Or do you have no mind at all? Or are you not beings of the three lower realms? Thinking thus, I became discouraged that what I had done was meaningless. However, the precious human body is very special. It can speak and understand, and knows everything that is taught. If you practice for enlightenment, you can achieve it in one lifetime. Therefore, you must reverse good and bad again. The Buddha, a collection of faultless qualities, also arises from the practice of sentient beings with faults. Understand this kind of principle well, abandon bad habits and enter the tradition of goodness. With mindfulness, awareness, and vigilance, learn the glory of taming body, speech, and mind. Do not look at the path of others, but grasp your own faults. Entrust your trust to the Lama and the Three Jewels as witnesses. Protect the vows to the teacher and Dharma brothers according to the scriptures. Do not separate the practice of generation and completion stages from meaning. Do not deceive the Lama, do not destroy the Buddha's teachings. Do not deceive others, do not go back on your own words. Do not separate the three doors from the sacred Dharma. If you do this, it doesn't matter what you do, whether you go or stay. If you don't do this, your own suffering will be ridiculed by others. Wise ones, please know and understand. This is not said to one person, but is an identification of the faults and virtues of all of us. Whoever is touched by it, let him grasp his own weaknesses. Whoever understands it, that is the profound advice. Whoever realizes it, that is the sign of liberation. This was the heart advice given by the Great Perfection yogi Pema Rigdzin when many of the Vidyadhara Gyatso's Dharma friends were going for alms from Tsari. Here ends the Heart Advice, the Necklace of Vaidurya.
