A Prayer to be Made at the End of Times. A Prayer to be Made at the End of Times. This is the text called "A Prayer to be Made at the End of Times." Namo! From the depths of my heart, I take refuge in the Three Jewels. Until I attain forbearance in the unborn Dharma, may I never fall into the realms of suffering, and may I obtain a body superior to that of the gods. Even if I attain the heavens, if I am bound by the three kinds of suffering, then samsara is meaningless. In a body of fortunate rebirth, an obstacle to passing into nirvana, may I abandon a body that is similar to the eight states of unfreedom. Those who do not uphold vows, constantly wicked kings and ministers, who delight in war and practice crooked justice. A slave of a lord, tormented by the weak, may I abandon the body of a merchant and a deceitful person. Stealing the wealth of the Three Jewels, managing the affairs of the Sangha, using the wealth of both liberation and non-liberation at will. Those who seek profit with good wishes, causing displeasure to householders, may I abandon the body of a practitioner who burns the continuum of others. Like a demon with an evil nature, hating the wealth of others, with the mind of an Asura. Deceiving those who deserve refuge, hating the Dharma, may I abandon the body of a thief, robber, destroyer, and hunter. Committing the five inexpiable sins or the five near to them, practicing the ten non-virtues without remorse. Setting fire to forests, destroying beehives, etc., may I be liberated from great transgressions. Having been liberated in this way, now at the end of the five hundred years, may I obtain a male body, a precious human body. Whether ordained or not, may I obtain a body with the lineage of a Bodhisattva. As soon as I am born, may I meet a Lama who directly shows the unmistaken path of the Great Vehicle, pleasing him in every way, and may I be endowed with the wisdom of hearing, contemplation, and meditation. May that also be endowed with the mind of Bodhicitta, familiar with the practice of the six perfections, in the treasury of the five paths and ten bhumis of mantra, may I have the supreme fortune to proceed all at once. This was written by the Great Perfection practitioner Rangjung Dorje, in accordance with the meaning of the various sorrows that arose in the situation and time, as urged by Gung Sangpa Jangchub Gyaltsen. A Prayer to be Made at the End of Times.
