Chapter Five: Explanation of the Treatise that Demonstrates the Supreme Conduct. Chapter Five: Explanation of the Treatise that Demonstrates the Supreme Conduct. Now, in order to show the distinction of the practitioner's conduct, the fifth chapter is taught, starting with "Then." "Teacher, Bhagavan" has already been explained. "King" means beautiful. "Possessing body, speech, and mind" means possessing the three vajras, and because the conduct is without defilement, the teacher is called "such." "Lord of the Earth" refers to becoming the master of all lands. "With all excellence" means that it is excellent for that reason, so add "thus declared" etc. How is it? It is said to be "all conduct," which is mental conduct. As it is said: Whatever is practiced in the mind, is the stable universal conduct. Therefore, the mind conducts all. That itself is also the meaning of the supreme Dharma, therefore it is such. The characteristics of such conduct also appear below, so it is said to be declared. Now, it is taught that the nature of previous conduct is accomplished immediately after obtaining complete purity. "Non-discrimination" etc. The meaning of non-discrimination is that by grasping the aspect of the grasped, it is the non-discriminating furnace and the vast wheel, and arising from that, it will be accomplished. What is that? "Desire, hatred, delusion, etc.," that is, those sentient beings who are heavily afflicted by those afflictions. In what is it accomplished? "The supreme vehicle is unsurpassed," the perfections are inferior. Becoming superior to that, this is unsurpassed. Becoming supreme from that is the Great Seal, and those accomplish it. Now it is taught that if one fully understands the nature, one will not be bound by karma and birth. "Archer" etc. "Archer" is a low occupation. "One with moles" is of low caste. What is included by the word "etc." is all the lowly. "Those who kill are those who seek meaning" refers to fishermen, butchers, hunters, etc., because they think it is necessary, they are seekers of meaning. "Unsurpassed vehicle" is as before. Such a supreme vehicle is the path.

It is said that this will be accomplished. "Committing the five inexpiable sins" refers to committing the five sins such as killing one's father, because one goes to hell immediately after death. The word "etc." is a summary, including the five sins that are close to it. "Beings committing great evils" refers to the arising of the four root downfalls. Those who wish to cause others to fall away from the Buddha's teachings, even after they have received definite prophecies, by abiding in this sequence, will be accomplished by merely reciting it. Therefore, it is shown that this is the Great Vehicle. If someone asks, then will even beings who despise the lama be accomplished? In order to negate this, "Those who slander the teacher from the heart, even if they practice, will not be completely accomplished," one should not even slander by joking. What need is there to mention completely abandoning outsiders through the three doors like a calf? Therefore, it is evident that accomplishment is achieved through this mantra. What need is there to mention other tantras where names are changed, such as those of low caste? Now, the special protections practiced by practitioners, and abiding by the vows of food, are taught: the mind of killing living beings, and killing those who harm the Three Jewels. "Having faith in liars," this is for the benefit of the guru, and for the sake of purifying the continuum of others. "Being attached to the wealth of others," and stingily hoarding unnecessary items, is also for the sake of purifying the nature of all attachments. "Constantly engaging in desire," this is for the sake of complete dedication, or for the special purpose of one's own intention. "Eating excrement and urine as food," because one possesses the power of self-arising nature, therefore, whether actually or by contemplating with intention. These four should be understood through the sequence of the ninth chapter. The others are according to the sequence of the sixth and twelfth chapters. For those who possess non-dual wisdom, it is said that going or not going is not prohibited, such as "mother" and so on. "Mother, sister, daughter," this refers to them themselves, because for those who possess non-dual wisdom, no difference is seen. "The desirous one" refers to striving for the sake of accomplishment, therefore, if one uses it, there is no fault, but if one is controlled by desire, then the asceticism will be exhausted. Not only is there no fault, but
