Chapter Two: Showing the Defeat of the Lord of Death Chapter Two: Showing the Defeat of the Lord of Death The disciple inquired: I have understood the manner of serving the lama. For what purpose should I act? Please show me. The master teacher said: From beginningless samsara, Those who harm by being discordant, In order to conquer the four maras, The questions will be explained in detail. By what means is the supreme immortal body obtained, Which is the basis of all qualities? Why are sentient beings short-lived, Unable to accomplish the state of immortality? Therefore, with all effort, One should strive to achieve immortality. In order to attain permanently, That immortality which overcomes the Lord of Death, In order to practice the sacred Dharma, for immeasurable results, The Victorious Ones have declared the destruction of death. Being skilled in the characteristics of the spoken external and internal signs of death, Becoming a means of deceiving the Lord of Death, Therefore, make great effort, For the mind of effort, the result is in hand.
