Fifth, Explanation of the Chapter on Suchness. Fifth, Explanation of the Chapter on Suchness. To show that without realizing Suchness, one cannot abandon all the habits of clinging to appearances. Therefore, the chapter called "Suchness" is taught. The so-called "reality of things is formless," because it can become a form, it is a form, that is, matter. Moreover, because it is established as an object through the combination of one and many, and also because matter is not an object of appearance. Therefore, only consciousness appears separately in various forms such as blue and yellow. The so-called "also without seeing," because what is seen has no self-nature, so the seeing consciousness also has no grasper. Because these two are mutually dependent. There is also no self, etc., which will be mentioned below. Such as "the eye grasps form," etc., because this only speaks of the nature of the internal and external sense bases. Similarly, this combination should also be applied to sounds, etc. Thus, by showing that the internal and external sense bases are without self-nature, one can understand and comprehend that all things are also without self-nature. The so-called "birth mother and," etc., will show that there is no connection with mother and daughter, etc. For example, the blood and semen of mothers, etc., are manifested and produced by karma. Birth, dwelling, aging, death, happiness, and suffering all depend on karma. Then, what is the connection between sons, etc., and what language or means can be used to express this connection? It is impossible to establish. Therefore, the forms of the selfless mother, etc., produced by mantras and mudras, are inseparable from the discriminations of the mundane way, and their emptiness is the birth mother, etc. Thus, by offering according to the revealed ritual, one will enter the unsurpassed wisdom of the Tathagata. To show that lineages also have no self-nature, the singer, etc., are taught. Birth in the lineage of singers, etc., also has no self-nature. For example, the color, shape, mind and mental factors, birth, aging, dwelling, and impermanence of the Brahmin lineage, etc.
