Chapter Nine, The Chapter on Purification. Chapter Nine, The Chapter on Purification. Now, starting with "apart from that," it explains purification through the reality of suchness and differentiation. First, the purification of suchness is discussed. It is said in the Glorious Vajra Peak: "It is said in the Glorious Vajra Peak: What is called purification? It is neither existent nor non-existent, neither a thing nor a non-thing, there is no speaker nor anything to be spoken. Purification itself is nirvana." Thus it is said. Starting with "all things," the objects of external and internal discrimination are all equality. Pure suchness, remaining constantly in that very way, is suchness, which is always pure by its very nature, like the sky, and is described as unconditioned nature. Its essence is to meditate on that suchness ground. As stated in the Suchness chapter of the Glorious Perfection of Wisdom Sutra: "Just as the suchness of the Tathagata is immutable, without change, without conception, without differentiation, and cannot be destroyed in any way, so too the suchness of all dharmas is immutable, without change, without conception, without differentiation, and cannot be destroyed in any way. Why is that? Because the suchness of the Tathagata and the suchness of all dharmas are one and the same. This suchness is not two and cannot be made into two." Thus it is said. Similarly, it is also said in the Glorious True Utterance of Names: "True selflessness is suchness, true limit is immutable, the supreme of those who speak of emptiness, proclaims the sound of profundity and vastness." Thus it is said. Having realized without distinction, from "from the outside" etc., one by one, from the distinctions of the aggregates etc., the purification of the deities should be realized from the outside, such as "the form aggregate transforms into Vajra Mother" etc. Then, why are the faculties etc. called pure? It is said: "Afflictions are obscured by ignorance," ignorance is unknowing, clinging to "I" and "mine." Afflictions are the causes of desirable and undesirable actions, which are the distinctions of mind.

Earth and so on. Those obscured by obscurations should be connected. It is also said in the Glorious Stainless Light: From emptiness, a collection of things, The analyzed form is completely devoid of anything, Appearance is seen in the mirror, A young girl wipes her face with a cloth. This is the wisdom like a mirror, with the skandha of form completely purified by the transcendental truth. After all things become equal, The one thing remains unchanged, Born from unchanging wisdom, It is neither annihilation nor eternal. This is the wisdom of equality, with the skandha of feeling completely purified. The nature of names, all letters, Truly arise from the family of the letter A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: A), Attaining the great state of immutability, Without name and without being named. This is the wisdom of individual discrimination, with the skandha of perception completely purified. The unborn dharmas, Even for those who are without action, There is no Buddha and no Bodhi, There are no sentient beings and no life itself. This is the wisdom of accomplishing activities, with the skandha of formation completely purified. The nature of consciousness has transcended, Pure wisdom is without defilement, The dharmas of self-luminous nature, Have reached and realized the Dharmadhatu. This is the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu, with the skandha of consciousness completely purified. Again, it is said there, The wisdom of the emptiness of all kinds is the bliss of transformation, And the exhaustion of the obscurations of discrimination, etc., The skandhas, ayatanas, and dhatus are all completely purified. In the Glorious Prajnaparamita, it is also said in the chapter on purification: Subhuti! Whatever form is completely pure, that is the fruit that is completely pure; whatever fruit is completely pure, that is the form that is completely pure. Subhuti! Thus, this purity of form and the purity of fruit are non-dual, cannot be made into two, are neither different nor non-different. Subhuti! Likewise, feeling, perception, and formation. Subhuti! Whatever consciousness is completely pure, that is the fruit that is completely pure; whatever fruit is completely pure, that is the consciousness that is completely pure. As the world is, so is the Buddha, As the Dharma is without defilement, So are the realms of sentient beings, etc.
