Collected Works of Dokpupa Sherab Gyaltsen JDol31, entitled 'The General Commentary on All Profound Sutras and Tantras: Knowing One Liberates All'. The General Commentary on All Profound Sutras and Tantras: Knowing One Liberates All. The General Commentary on All Profound Sutras and Tantras: Knowing One Liberates All. Om Guru Buddha Bodhisattvaye Namo Namah. The General Commentary on All Profound Sutras and Tantras, Knowing One Liberates All. I prostrate to and take refuge in the glorious and venerable Lama and all the perfectly accomplished ones! I beseech you to always hold me with great compassion. The basis of conventional truth is empty of all imputations. I bow to the ultimate truth, the realm of Dharma, which is perfectly accomplished. The basis is free from all forms of conceptualization. I bow to the self-arisen wisdom, the unconditioned innate awareness. If one knows the suchness of form, one will know the essence and details of all dharmas. Even if one knows the suchness up to omniscience, one will also know the essence and details of all dharmas. As it is said in the Mother of the Victorious Ones Sutra: If one knows the suchness of form, one will know the essence and details of all dharmas. Similarly, if one knows the suchness of feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness, one will know the essence and details of all dharmas. Thus, it extends up to omniscience. The meaning of essence and details is also explained in the commentary on the three Mother Sutras, 'Subduing Objections': When one knows the perfectly accomplished as merely suchness, at that time one knows the essence. When one knows the perfectly accomplished as the suchness of form, the suchness of feeling, etc., as pure, at that time one knows the details. As stated by the great master Vasubandhu, it abides in the meaning. Also, in the Glorious Tantra, it is said: 'Certainly, the purity of all things is called suchness. The gods will speak of the individual distinctions from the outside in.' The meaning of this teaching is also the same. There appear to be many pure statements of this kind and those with the same essential point. Although there is no difference in the nature of suchness, because it is the basis with defilements and the result without defilements, knowing it in this way allows one to know the basis and result of all profound sutras and tantras. By the method of removing defilements, the winds and conceptualizations naturally cease. If one knows the profound Vajra Yoga, one will know the profound definitive meaning of all sutras and tantras. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now it shall be known. These are also gathered into two: the profound ground and fruit, and the profound path. The first is to know the profound Suchness, the second is the profound yoga of Prajñāpāramitā, which is known through knowing the yoga of equality. This, in the tradition of the fully endowed, was composed by Gyalkhampa (རྒྱལ་ཁམས་པ།), and is far more excellent than the tradition of the three-part division. Maṅgalaṃ! Bhavantu! Śubhaṃ! (The original is only the Dzamtang edition.) Table of Contents The General Commentary on All Profound Sūtras and Tantras, Called 'Knowing One, Liberates All' is Present. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
