The Six Key Points of Tögal The Six Key Points of Tögal The six key points of Tögal are: the body key is to remain in the posture of the three kayas; the speech key is to remain in the inexpressible wheel; and the mind key is to remain free from the conceptual thoughts of grasping and fixation, focusing on the sphere of bindu, these are the three. Furthermore, the door key is not to waver from the three ways of looking; the object key is to focus on the sun, moon, lamps, crystals, and the sky; and the wind key is to have the breath enter and exit between the lips and teeth without touching slightly, these are the six. Thus, the root of practice that does not go beyond the six key points is the six lamps: the heart, precious citta, the flesh lamp is the root place where wisdom abides. Within it, there is a golden vital vein, its upper end, the center, is empty and self-liberated. To the right is a white silk thread, to the left is thin and twisted. The golden vital vein downwards (nasal examination) pierces into the life vein, these are the self-radiance of wisdom, the body light, the path through which wisdom travels, therefore it is the white and soft vein lamp. The upper ends of the white silk thread and the thin and twisted two veins are the door through which wisdom arises, it is the far-reaching lasso, the water lamp, these are the three container lamps. The lamp of the pure realm of space, appearing as the nature of five-colored rainbows, standing upright and appearing horizontally, and the lamp of the empty bindu, the circumference of water patterns and five lights, and the three that are like self-born wisdom or a vajra chain, a crystal rosary, or a stretched iron chain, are called the three essence lamps. When such essence lamps appear as objects, by looking without distraction and in a state of non-conceptualization, one sees the body, speech, and mind of all the Buddhas simultaneously. Therefore, through this, one will quickly attain the state of Buddhahood, and there is no more supreme instruction than this, even if a thousand Buddhas searched, they could not find it.
