A Summary of the Essential Meaning of the Peg Instructions on Kadak Trekchö. A Summary of the Essential Meaning of the Peg Instructions on Kadak Trekchö. A Summary of the Essential Meaning of the Peg Instructions on Kadak Trekchö is present. The wisdom of self-arising awareness is Samantabhadra, the meaning of freedom from elaboration. Having respectfully prostrated to him, I will explain this summary of the essential meaning. Having said this, now, to differentiate between mind and awareness: In general, by leaving one's own mind uncorrected, that very nature of being, naturally clear and lucid, is the great dharmata of awareness, free from elaboration, all-pervasive, and expansive. Mind has grasping and being grasped; awareness does not have grasping and being grasped. Mind thinks about objects; awareness does not think about objects. Mind has arising and ceasing; awareness does not. Mind has limitations and partiality; awareness does not. Mind has sinking, excitement, and dullness; awareness does not. Mind has ignorance as its root; awareness has wisdom, dharmakaya, and freedom from elaboration as its root. Mind looks outward; awareness is great inner clarity. Mind is immediate consciousness; awareness is self-illuminating great wisdom; there is this difference. Well then, what is the difference between the alaya and the dharmakaya? The dharmakaya is empty and clear, free from all elaboration. The alaya is the root of mind, defiled by ignorance. Moreover, it is the unindicated, habituated in the three: place, meaning, and body. It focuses on the vast container and its contents. It looks outward. It is a ground of bewilderment. Although it is said to be without grasping, if one pursues its object to the end, it does not go beyond grasping. The dharmakaya is transparent and free from obscurations. It is the unceasing self-display of wisdom. It is the playful dance of prajna, like a fire that burns away habituations, and it abides in a state of wakefulness and nakedness. Furthermore, when one is in an ordinary state, there is a state of mind that is clear and lucid, in which thoughts do not stir; that is called the alaya-consciousness. The tirthikas' self, consciousness, and person of awareness are the same as that. Therefore, someone who says, "The mind is clear and without thoughts; I know," is similar to that. Moreover, in any case, if one does not recognize the aspect of awareness, it is not meditation. By bringing forth the clear aspect of awareness, and driving in the peg of grasping, one will not understand the hidden movements. Furthermore, even if one says that awareness is emptiness and freedom from elaboration, if one experiences it with the mind, it is not freedom from elaboration. If one does not experience it, then by not knowing anything at all, one will also wander into the unindicated. Therefore, the taste of the expanse and awareness from the very beginning

It is inseparable. Furthermore, yoga will not manifest for those who are fixated on examination with conceptual thoughts. The experience of taste and the corresponding feelings that exist in the lower realms of form, where the mind's thoughts and expressions have ceased and abided, are not the characteristics of great meditators of today. The essence of awareness, emptiness, is the Dharmakaya; its self-nature, clarity, is the Sambhogakaya; and compassion, vividly naked, is the Nirmanakaya, the intention free from partiality. To look at that without distraction is the view; to meditate without being tainted by the effort and attachment of the mind is meditation; to remain without being moved by conceptual thoughts, severing the bonds of the three times (past, present, future) with the mind, and to remain without distraction from that, the intention of effortless self-liberation will manifest. Therefore, what is now called awareness, and all that is said to be clear in appearance, how could that be the meaning of the true reality? If you protect the clear light without day or night, and if you do not attain the state of Buddhahood, Vajradhara will not deceive you; this is the definitive reason. Furthermore, if you fall into distraction, forgetfulness, and confusion, that is the confusion of conceptual thoughts. There is nothing that is confused. Because there is nothing that is not naturally liberated. Practice like this, and there is nothing deeper than this. When conceptual thoughts arise, do not look at their face, do not meditate on their nature, do not do anything like anticipating or analyzing, but simply remain in the original awareness. In this way, all conditioned appearances and conceptual thoughts will naturally dissolve, purifying without remainder. This is the intention of self-liberation, great equality, so practice it repeatedly. Although the nature of conceptual thoughts may appear to be a fault in the way they manifest externally, in reality, directly speaking, there is nothing but awareness, so there is no need to regard it as a fault, because the essence is primordially liberated. Thus, at the urging of Chöle, Gaga said so. A concise summary of the essential meaning of the Kadag Trekchö Nail Letter.
