Therein lies the distinction between root and branch: Firstly, as it is the root of the general commitment, one should remain equally in the meaning of the garland of skulls each day. As a sign of that, strive in the visualization and recitation of the peaceful and wrathful deities of the arising stage. Since the attainments of secret mantra depend on empowerment, the river should not cease. Since that is the life-oath, it should be kept as promised. Since the nature of the mandala and the source of the empowerment-oath are the root guru, do not abandon the yoga of devotion. Since the skillful means and wisdom of the Great Vehicle depend on compassion and bodhicitta, do not forget them. Since it is the root of activities, one must obtain the life-entrustment of the Dharma Protector. The deities and gurus of meaning and symbol are the nature and image of the Dharma, and others are needed as conditions for going to the path. Since these are the teachings of the Buddha, from the necessary results arranged in the role of protectors, it is meaningless not to act according to the Dharma. Furthermore, if one has not obtained the empowerment of life, since there is no oath related to the Fierce Protector, special activities will not be accomplished. What should be abandoned is the opposite of these. Secondly, in terms of branches, there are two: abandoning and practicing. Firstly: Abandoning wrong views and conflicts that regard bad lineages as belonging to the class of demons 1. Abandon cursing deities to protect others' adultery and face-saving 2. Abandon slandering monks, mantra practitioners, women, and astrologers who belong to the circle of attendants 3. Abandon despising royal families who are of the same lineage 4. Also, do not trust the gods and spirits of slaves 5. Abandon the basis of impurity and uncleanliness: the unclean, the blacksmith, and the widow 6. Abandon killing for the sake of compassionate altruism 7. Because disputes over wealth will arise, abandon plundering, stealing, and robbing 8. Because it contradicts the root of benefit and happiness, the sacred Dharma, abandon harmful thoughts 9. Because cause and effect will ripen in different ways, abandon wrong views 10. Because it will cause enmity with the deities, abandon sacrificial offerings 11. Do not beat the main objects of the lama's property, namely herds of cattle and mongooses.

And twelve. What should be accepted is: their opposites, and as the basis for the body, speech, and mind, the Guru stone and the life wheel should be placed inseparable. The lineage of mantra recitation should never be interrupted. Symbolizing mind, qualities, and activities, bind the mudras. By making the vow of the mind, practice the profound Chöd. Offer the book of the illusion wheel, which has become the support of the mind. Do not lose the confidence of the view that knows all purity. Appearing as an intimate companion, do not fall from the perilous path of meditation. The expansion and contraction of activities, using the peg and the inviolable samaya, make the life force stable. With the good seed of merit, offer with offerings that are small in material but undiminished in essence. The bond of the covenant that constantly entrusts activities is strong, do not cut off the continuous offering of the Tsok and Torma. With reverence and respect, do not doubt whether it will be accomplished or not, but practice. The main Guru wealth is the Year of the Ox and the Year of the Monkey. After that, everything else is left in equanimity. Thus, the words of the Immutable Victorious One reached the crown of the head, received from Gaga Abhaya. The essential heart of liberation, the order of the oath of the Dharma Protector, the Great Powerful One.
