Tranquil and Wrathful Root Practice: Spontaneous Fulfillment of the Three Kayas. Tranquil and Wrathful Root Practice: Spontaneous Fulfillment of the Three Kayas. From the Play of Wisdom's Illusion: Thus is the practice called "Tranquil and Wrathful Root Practice: Spontaneous Fulfillment of the Three Kayas." Homage to Guru Padmakara! Atha! Herein are three parts: preliminaries, main practice, and conclusion. First, the seven aspects of the preliminaries are explained. Namo! In the mandala of the Peaceful and Wrathful deities in their own place, I take refuge with reverence through the three doors. To awaken the essence so that all beings do not stray from this, I generate the mind of enlightenment. Hūṃ! From the self-arisen wisdom and its own power, may the signs of obstacles be cleared away from the letter KA. With the confidence of seeing and knowing the view, henceforth, I am the king of the boundary, free from delusion. Hūṃ! The body, speech, and mind of the Vajra realm, to awaken the primordial awareness, bestow great blessings. From the appearance of the ornaments of wisdom, may the desired qualities be perfected as goddesses. Aweśaya pheṃ pheṃ! Jñānapūja āḥ hūṃ! Second, the seven aspects of the main practice. Āḥ! The essence is primordially pure, the suchness itself. The nature is all-appearing, great compassion. The compassion is self-liberating, the syllable Oṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Oṃ). The root is the family of the body, the light of wisdom. In the pure palace of the four roots, the seat of the bindu, sun, and moon. The radiant body is of five forms: Vairochana, Vajrasattva, Ratnasambhava, Amitabha, and Amoghasiddhi appear. In the heart are four clusters of small families. In the center is Samantabhadra, each with its own color. On the crown is Heruka Chakrasamvara, father and mother residing. To the right and left are the heroes and heroines embracing. Surrounding are sixty Buddhas of the six realms. In the four directions are four wrathful ones each. In the center of the conch shell, spiraling to the right, is the root space. The five great radiant wrathful ones, father and mother in union, surround them. Eight wrathful mothers and the retinue of messengers. Four daughter goddesses and outer goddesses, inseparable, the great complete mandala is clear. From the three syllables at the three places, light radiates and the wisdom deities are invited. Then, Hūṃ! In the face of attachment to good and bad, partiality, I request that the self-appearance be shown as the teacher. In the great spontaneously accomplished primordial ground, I request that you remain unwavering and stable in non-duality. Jñānadeva maṇḍala ja ja! Samaya tiṣṭha lhan! Ho! The meaning is the equality of self-nature. I prostrate and praise the non-dual view. The display of power, the self-liberated clouds of offerings, I offer without the three circles of fixation. Pūca kha hi! Hūṃ! The single bindu swirls in the realm of bliss. The unwavering, self-aware bodhichitta. The illusory dance of the five kayas of skillful means and wisdom. The radiance of the five wisdoms dawns.

With immeasurable compassion and peaceful wrath, I prostrate and praise the perfectly complete one. Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,hūṃ,seed syllable, radiating light, capable of destroying all sins, possessing vast merits), From the heart essence of the triple hero, Light radiates, accomplishing both benefits completely. Gathering again, self-absorbed, the deities of appearance and existence, In the great play, contemplate blessings. Samaya (ས་མ་ཡཱ,samaya, vow, discipline). Recite the mantra that gathers all peaceful and wrathful deities, Or the essence of the triple wisdom, Not departing from its nature, uphold the commitment. Obtain the empty life force of the Buddhas of the three times. Samaya (ས་མ་ཡཱ,samaya, vow, discipline). Again, the third, the six aspects of the subsequent ritual. Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,hūṃ,seed syllable, radiating light, capable of destroying all sins, possessing vast merits), With afflictions, cause and effect, and actions, Manifestly attain Buddhahood in the great self-nature. Obtain accomplishment, self-abiding, self-mastery. May the activities for the benefit of others be completely accomplished. Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,hūṃ,seed syllable, radiating light, capable of destroying all sins, possessing vast merits), The great mudra of the union of appearance and emptiness, The illusion of equality, clear pride, All the qualities of the ground, path, and fruition, May there be the auspiciousness of great perfection. Samaya (ས་མ་ཡཱ,samaya, vow, discipline). Thus, this profound daily practice, Before the Vajra speech of the holy Dharma Muni, Not daring to turn away, Kaga Abhay said. With various forms and meanings of knowledge, This is what the Lord of Speech said. Virtuous! The root daily practice of peaceful and wrathful deities, spontaneously accomplishing the three bodies.
