Twenty-three kinds of conduct. Twenty-three kinds of conduct. The twenty-three kinds of conduct are: Even if life is at stake, uphold the vows to the lama and dharma brothers (like the conduct of a fox), enter without hindrance into all knowable objects of wisdom, know the limits of guarding and ultimately accomplish, achieving anything in an instant (like a robin). Diligently engage in dances, mudras, and whirling practices with the skill of the body (like a spinning top), subduing and punishing the fierce and those to be subdued (like an elephant), with the power of view, conduct, and samadhi, liberating the ten directions of realms and elevating the state (like a tiger), realizing the inseparability of the dharmadhatu and wisdom through view, reaching the highest state, the supreme conduct of a yogi without partiality (like a garuda), subduing others through manifest actions (like a bear), making the mind firm and irreversible from practice (like gold), not distinguishing between samsara and nirvana or anything else (like a mute), conduct that is not swayed by the dullness or agitation of samadhi (like Mount Meru), conduct without acceptance or rejection, free from conceptual thoughts about anything (like space), destroying enemies and obstacles through the recitation of wrathful deities (like a thunderbolt), destroying those who obstruct (like Vajrapani), being cautious about accepting and rejecting vows (like a crow), having certainty about the meaning of what is, not clinging to anything (like an elephant entering water), accomplishing great deeds alone, abandoning friends (like a lion without companions), not being separated from the lama and dharma brothers by quarrels, living together harmoniously with loving-kindness (like mandarin ducks), practicing the mandala of illusory mudras, yet not clinging to it, accomplishing activities with skillful means (like the forms created by a magician), having no acceptance or rejection of food (like a pig), liberating the ten directions of realms and enjoying them as if eating (like a hyena), accomplishing benefits in an instant with great compassion (like lightning), being reverent towards the wealth of the lama and dharma brothers, not taking ungranted objects belonging to those to be subdued (like a vulture), not deviating from the basis of shared intention, guiding those to be subdued with skillful means (like a king), furthermore, without fabrication, spontaneously accomplished, the only truth, these are the surpassing four vows. The root is the three of body, speech, and mind, the branches are the twenty-five vows, being in accordance with the great yoga, hence the common twenty-eight. Abandoning sleep and intoxication, these two.

The expression of symbolic language in secret mantras: Destroying the demon of laziness, which are the four samayas of continuous conduct; the enemy of view, meditation, and action that are artificial and allowed to flow freely; the enemy of inferior view and vulgar, dissolute conduct; the enemy of broken root and branch samayas that lead to downfall; the enemy of limited laziness that steals the fruit. Destroying these four enemies, abandoning the five demons of conceptualization, distraction, laziness, harsh words, anger, and ferocity. The pure vessel is Akanistha; desirable qualities are the objects of offering; the essence is the mandala of the deity; afflictions are realized as great wisdom, these are the four samayas. Gaga So!
