Among the practices of the Buddhas of the three times, the practice of the Guru is said to be supreme. Therefore, for this semblance of it, I record these meaningless echoes. Samaya! From the sky directly in front of the brow of oneself, abiding in an ordinary state, on a lotus and sun seat, is the form of Vajra Guru, an emanation arising from ordinariness, just as it appears to oneself. The right hand holds a wheel, the left a bell. The two feet are in vajra posture. From the nature of indivisible appearance and emptiness, he enjoys the action mudra without separation. In the mandala of empty bindus, in the net of pure space, is the essence of the self-arisen lamp of wisdom, abiding in the confidence of natural appearance. From the three syllables at the three places, with rays of light, from the mandalas of the victorious ones of the ten directions, the powerful vajra body, speech, and mind, qualities, activities, and all self-arising abilities, like rain falling into the ocean, are invited and blended inseparably. Hūṃ! (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum!) Oḍiyāna's land...etc. From the mandala of exhausted dharma and transcended intellect, the glory of accomplished qualities, spontaneously arises in the experience of appearance. I rejoice in virtue, urge the turning of the Dharma wheel, request him not to pass away, and go for refuge. I take the vows of bodhichitta, and keep all the samayas of the vidyādhara mantras. I will also nurture the vajra lineage. Bless me to be an agent who establishes all beings in the state of enlightenment. By this virtue, may all beings attain Buddhahood! Bestow the four empowerments and purify the four obscurations. The path of the four joys of attaining the four kāyas.
