So he requested. "Lord, what are my eight names, along with the retinue of secret mantras?" The Blessed One said, "Vajrapani, listen to what I will say. It is like this: You are the one with elephant ears. You are the one endowed with excellent ornaments. You are the one who completely subdues. You are the source of jewels. You are the cloud of truth itself. You are the one endowed with the ornament of a beautiful form. You are the one endowed with blazing flames. You are the one with a beautiful form. If wise people hear these names of yours, beings will not be born in hell for seven hundred trillion kalpas. All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will also be present before him at the time of his death, and they will teach him the Dharma. If recited when sleeping, bad dreams will not be seen. If recited a hundred thousand times in front of a stupa containing relics, one will be liberated from all sins. Even if one commits the five heinous crimes, one will become a Bodhisattva in the Fortunate Aeon, I say. Again, if recited a hundred thousand times, one will become an Acharya."
