Ritual for Accomplishing the Serpent Lasso Ritual for Accomplishing the Serpent Lasso Thereafter, if a yogi wishes to accomplish the serpent lasso, then the yogi should accomplish it with five-colored threads. Cut the threads that are transformed by color calculation according to the measurement, and be sure to accomplish it from the most suitable threads. Then, mix together the powder of fine food, Madhu flowers, Rasa flowers, lampwick, lotus stamens, Nāgapuṣpa (Sanskrit: Nāgapuṣpa, meaning: Dragon Flower), and the milk of the Arka tree. Rub it, weave it together at the same time, and apply it well to the crown of the head. Then, recite the Amoghapāśa King one thousand and eight times. A coiled serpent with three heads and necks, completely coiled and covered with gold, well-connected, is the best lasso. The yogi should bathe well and wear clean clothes. Make a square mandala with cow dung and offer incense. Decorate with flower petals and filled vases. Decorate all around with banners. The earth will split open. The Vidyadhara, having entered and recited the Amogharaja, should encircle the serpent noose three times. Then, the Naga king, along with his queen and retinue, will come and speak openly to the Vidyadhara, saying: "Vidyadhara, please enter." Then, the Vidyadhara, holding the serpent noose, should encircle it and enter. Then, the Vidyadhara will not see the faults of the Nagas and will disappear. All the chakras, door bolts, and latches will be cut and severed. As soon as he enters, the Naga maiden, beautiful and adorned with all ornaments, a beautiful and charming maiden, holding a string of jewels, will offer it to the Vidyadhara. The Vidyadhara will take it and place it on his head. As soon as it is placed, the Naga maiden will fly into the sky, and milk will drip from her two breasts. The Vidyadhara will catch it and drink it, and his life will last for twenty thousand years. His hair will also curl slightly. All those called Naga kings will become Chakravartins (universal monarchs). With great power and diligence, he will subdue the enemy. Then, the Vidyadhara should put down the serpent noose and recite the essence of the Amogharaja on a twig of the Karavira tree and perform the action. Whatever name is mentioned and whatever is thought of in the mind, everything will be accomplished immediately. When it does not rain, the serpent noose should be circled in a high place. By circling it just once, a great stream of rain will fall. When it rains too much, if the serpent noose is placed in a high place, the excessive rain will cease. When it is cold, windy, or hailing, in the morning, first circle the Naga noose in the four directions. Hail will not fall within a hundred yojanas around. All cold winds and hail will be bound. A great boundary will be bound for the entire year. Each day, recite the essence of the Amogharaja twenty-one times, then hold the noose with the right hand and drive away with the left hand. Each day, one will receive the food of the gods.

If you throw it into the sky, flowers, fruits, and good crops, anything good, will ripen very well. All very good food will fall from the surface of the sky to the ground. If you turn it twenty-one times and recite the King of Wrathful Ones twenty-one times, the dragon's palace, clothes, streamers, pendants, and all ornaments will fall to the ground. If a vidyadhara turns it more than twenty-one times and recites the King of Wrathful Ones, then the dragon and its retinue, together with the palace, will fall to the ground.
