The Noble Great Vehicle Sutra Called "Immeasurable Life and Wisdom" The Noble Great Vehicle Sutra Called "Immeasurable Life and Wisdom" In Indian language: Arya Aparimitayurjnananama Mahayana Sutra. In Tibetan language: The Noble Great Vehicle Sutra Called "Immeasurable Life and Wisdom." I prostrate to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus I have heard, at one time, the Blessed One was in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Anathapindika's Garden, together with a great Sangha of monks, one thousand two hundred and fifty monks, and a great multitude of Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. Then, the Blessed One spoke to Manjushri, who had become a youth: "Manjushri, in the direction above, there is a world called Immeasurable Qualities. There resides the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-sambuddha, named Immeasurable Life and Wisdom, the King Who Is Utterly and Completely Undefeatable. He upholds life and is determined to bring life to its end. He also teaches the Dharma to sentient beings. Manjushri, who has become a youth, listen! The sentient beings of this Jambudvipa have short lives, only a hundred years. Most of them are shown to die prematurely. Manjushri, if sentient beings write or have others write this Dharma teaching called 'Praising the Qualities of the Tathagata Immeasurable Life and Wisdom,' or merely hear its name, or from reading to writing it on a book, even keeping it in their homes, making offerings with flowers, incense, garlands, and powders, then their life, having been exhausted, will be able to last a hundred years. Manjushri, if sentient beings hear the one hundred and eight names of the King Who Is Utterly and Completely Undefeatable, Immeasurable Life and Wisdom, their lives will also increase. If sentient beings hold his name when their lives are about to end, their lives will also increase. Manjushri, therefore, sons or daughters of good families who desire long life should
