The Noble Wisdom Mantra Called "Dispelling Poison" The Noble Wisdom Mantra Called "Dispelling Poison" In Sanskrit: Āryajīgulīnāmavidyā. In Tibetan: The Noble Wisdom Mantra Called "Dispelling Poison." Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus have I heard. Once, the Blessed One was dwelling in Śrāvastī, in the Jeta Grove, at Anāthapiṇḍika's monastery. Then, the Blessed One addressed the monks, saying: Monks, in the past, when I was a Bodhisattva, on the north side of the Snowy Mountains, on a fragrant mountain, I lived in a cave of the king of mountains. I was a youth with the marks of a hundred merits, wearing the skin of an Eṇaya, with a snake-skin belt around my waist, a venomous snake as a head ornament, and venomous snakes as earrings. I ate poisonous flowers and drank the sap of the Māluta tree. They called me that. Child, come here and listen to me. I have a supreme wisdom mantra called "Noble Dispeller of Poison," which destroys poison. Whatever poisons there are, they will all be destroyed by my name. Tadyathā: Oṃ ili mitte, tili mitte, ili tili mitte, dumbe, dumbālīye, dusme, dusmāliye, tarke, takaraṇe, marme, marmerāṇe, kaśmiri, kaśmīra, mugte, aghe, aghāṇe, aghānaghāṇe, ilī alīye, akhā, īye, abyā, īye, śvete, śata, duṇḍe, anuragte svāhā. Monks, this wisdom mantra of mine, which dispels poison, is the purest of all gifts. Whoever hears this wisdom mantra once will not be bitten by snakes for seven years. Poison will not affect his body. If a snake bites him, its head will split into seven pieces like the stump of an Arjaka tree. These secret mantra words should not be spoken in front of snakes. Why? Because that snake will die. Tadyathā: Ilālā, cilālī, cakrabakko. Go into the pillar. Go into the wall. Go into the sky. Go into the earth. May it be peaceful Svaha.
