ཀྱིས་དེའི་ཚེ་སེམས་ཅན་ཐམས་ཅད་དགྲོལ་བ་ཞེས་བྱ་བའི་ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་ལ་སྙོམས་པར་ཞུགས་སོ། །མཉམ་པར་བཞག་པ་དེས་སྨིན་མཚམས་ཀྱི་མཛོད་སྤུའི་ཕྲག་ནས་འོད་ཟེར་འབུམ་ཕྲག་དུ་མ་བྱུང་སྟེ། འོད་ཟེར་དེ་དག་གིས་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་ཞིང་ཐམས་ཅད་ཁྱབ་པར་གྱུར་ཏོ། །སེམས་ཅན་གང་དག་འོད་ཟེར་དེས་རེག་པ་སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བ་པ་ཡན་ཆད་སེམས་ཅན་དེ་དག་ཐམས་ཅད་བླ་ན་མེད་པ་ཡང་དག་པར་རྫོགས་པའི་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཏུ་ངེས་པར་གྱུར་ཏོ། བསྐལ་པ་བྱེ་བ་བརྒྱར་ཡང་སངས་རྒྱས་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱིས་ཕན་ཡོན་བརྗོད་པར་མི་ནུས་སོ། །འདི་བཀླགས་པས་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ་དབང་བསྐུར་བར་འགྱུར་རོ། །གསང་སྔགས་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱང་མངོན་དུ་འགྱུར་རོ། Thus have I heard. Once, the Blessed One was dwelling in Rajagriha on Vulture Peak Mountain, together with a great Sangha of monks, numbering twelve thousand five hundred monks, and also together with countless billions of Bodhisattvas. He was surrounded and attended by hundreds of thousands of billions of gods, including Indra, Brahma, and the protectors of the world, and was seated on a lion throne of glory. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the Holy Avalokiteshvara, arose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, knelt on his right knee, and with palms joined in the direction of the Blessed One, smiling, he addressed the Blessed One as follows: Blessed One, the merit of the Few-Syllable Perfection of Wisdom is immense. Merely hearing it purifies all the karmic obscurations of all sentient beings and ensures their definite inclination towards enlightenment. And those who diligently practice mantras will accomplish them without obstacles. Please explain this. Then, the Blessed One praised the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the Holy Avalokiteshvara, saying: Well done! Well done! Son of good family, you have strived for a long time for the benefit of all sentient beings. Very good! Very good! Therefore, son of good family, listen well and keep it in mind, and I will explain to you the great merit of the Few-Syllable Perfection of Wisdom. Merely hearing it purifies all the karmic obscurations of all sentient beings and ensures their definite inclination towards enlightenment. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva, Arya Avalokiteshvara, said to the Bhagavan: "Please explain for the benefit of all sentient beings." Then, at that time, the Bhagavan entered into the Samadhi called 'Liberating All Sentient Beings.' As he entered into Samadhi, hundreds of thousands of rays of light emanated from the hair-pore between his eyebrows. Those rays of light pervaded all Buddha-fields. Any sentient being touched by those rays of light, even sentient beings in the hell realms, all those sentient beings were assured of attaining unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. All Buddha-fields also shook in six ways. Showers of divine sandalwood powder also fell at the feet of the Tathagata. Then, at that time, the Bhagavan spoke the Prajnaparamita, as follows: A Bodhisattva should have a mind of equanimity, a mind of loving-kindness, a mind of gratitude, and a mind that is free from all sins. One should also recite this essence of the Prajnaparamita. Homage to the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly and Completely Awakened Buddha Shakyamuni. Tadyatha. Om Muni Muni Maha Munaye Svaha. Because I have obtained this Prajnaparamita, I have attained unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. All Buddhas also arise from this. Because you have obtained this from the great Tathagata Shakyamuni, therefore you have become the most excellent of Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas. You will become a Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly and Completely Awakened Buddha named 'Light Radiating in All Directions, King of the Accumulation of Glory,' and you have also been prophesied by the Buddha himself. Those who hear your name, and hold it, read it, widely teach it to others, and write it on scrolls and make offerings, all of them will become Tathagatas in the future. Tadyatha. Jaya Jaya. Āne na svāhā. In the ultimate sense, this Prajñāpāramitā is what gives birth to all Buddhas, is the mother of Bodhisattvas, immediately seizes sins, and bestows enlightenment. Thus, even after hundreds of millions of kalpas, all Buddhas could not fully describe its benefits. By reciting this, one will be empowered in all mandalas. All secret mantras will also become manifest. Thereafter, the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, the noble Avalokiteśvara, asked the Bhagavan as follows: "Bhagavan, for what reason is this called Prajñāpāramitā?" The Bhagavan replied: "For the sake of ease. Those sentient beings who delight in the small, those who uphold, recite, write, or cause others to write this Prajñāpāramitā, all of them will easily incline towards enlightenment. Therefore, it is called Prajñāpāramitā." Having spoken thus, the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, the noble Avalokiteśvara, asked the Bhagavan as follows: "Bhagavan, to what extent does this Dharma-paryāya benefit all sentient beings, and for the benefit of sentient beings with little merit, and for the sake of benefit and happiness, has this been taught? Bhagavan, it is wonderful! Sugata, it is wonderful!" Having spoken thus, the Bhagavan, the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, the noble Avalokiteśvara, and those monks, and those Bodhisattvas, and the world with gods, humans, asuras, and gandharvas, rejoiced greatly and praised what the Bhagavan had spoken.
