第八，金杖品。 第八，金杖品。 如是我闻。一时，薄伽梵在舍卫城，胜子林给孤独园。与比丘僧众千二百五十人俱。那时，该城中一户人家，其妻生一子，取名金杖。相貌端正，善良且非常俊美，世间无双。此子因前世业力，双手握拳而生。其父母也深感稀奇，心想吉祥，便将此子的双拳打开观看。此子的手掌中各有一枚金币。 父母二人非常高兴，取走两枚金币。取走之后，原地又生出金币，于是反复取用。就这样，父母二人从手掌中取出的金币堆满了仓库，但此子的手中金币却用之不竭。此子长大后，向父母请求说：“我欲出家。”父母也欣然应允。 之后，童子金杖前往薄伽梵所在之处，以头顶礼双足，向佛陀禀告说：“薄伽梵，为了怜悯我，请导师允许我出家。”薄伽梵开示说：“童子金杖，我允许你出家。”就这样，佛陀应允后，童子金杖剃除须发，身披袈裟，成为沙门。之后，年岁已满，即将受具足戒时，向僧众祈请，请求受具足戒。受具足戒的僧众次第受礼，最终礼拜时，双手所触之处，皆有一枚金币。就这样，每次礼拜之处，都有金币出现。受具足戒后，精进修习，成为阿罗汉。阿难向薄伽梵禀告说：“薄伽梵，这位比丘金杖先前做了何种善业

Chapter Eight: The Golden Staff Chapter Eight: The Golden Staff Thus have I heard. At one time, the Blessed One was in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Park. He was with a gathering of one thousand two hundred and fifty monks. At that time, in that city, the wife of a householder gave birth to a son, and they named him Golden Staff. He had a good appearance, was kind, and extremely handsome, unmatched in the world. Due to past karma, the boy was born with both hands clenched in fists. His parents were very surprised and thought it was auspicious. They opened the boy's fists and saw that each of his palms contained a golden coin. The parents were very happy and took the two golden coins. After they took them, more coins appeared in their place, so they took them again and again. In this way, the parents took golden coins from his palms, filling up the treasury, but the coins in the boy's hands never ran out. When the boy grew up, he asked his parents, "I wish to go forth into homelessness." His parents gladly agreed. Then, the boy Golden Staff went to where the Blessed One was, bowed to his feet with his head, and said to the Buddha, "Blessed One, out of compassion for me, please allow me to go forth into homelessness." The Blessed One said, "Boy Golden Staff, I allow you to go forth into homelessness." Thus, after the Buddha granted permission, the boy Golden Staff shaved his head and beard, put on robes, and became a renunciate. Later, when he reached the age of full ordination, he requested the Sangha to ordain him, asking to receive the full ordination. As he paid homage to the Sangha receiving ordination, each place where his hands touched the ground produced a golden coin. In this way, golden coins appeared in every place he paid homage. After receiving full ordination, he practiced diligently and became an Arhat. Ananda asked the Blessed One, "Blessed One, what meritorious deeds did this monk Golden Staff perform in the past

那，从最初出生到现在一直拿着金币。祈请世尊开示。世尊对阿难说：要经常听闻并牢记在心，我将为你开示。阿难回答说：我将如是听闻。世尊开示说：过去，在九十一劫之前，有佛名为金寂如来出世，以正法利益众生，那是无法言说和测量的。那位佛陀与僧众一起在各地游化，一些出身高贵、富有、拥有财富和享受的施主们准备了各种食物，供养佛陀和近侍的圣僧。当时，有一个贫穷的人，一无所有，总是上山砍柴出售。后来，他卖柴得到了两个铜币，这个穷人看到佛陀和僧众被迎请到王宫，非常高兴，于是将自己拥有的两个铜币供养了佛陀和僧众。世尊慈悲地接受了这两个铜币。世尊对阿难说：当时，那个穷人将两个铜币供养佛陀和僧众，因此在九十一劫中，他的手中总是拿着金币，财富、珍宝和生活享受用之不竭。当时，那个穷人就是现在的金杖比丘。即使这个人没有获得阿罗汉的果位，未来成熟的果报也是无法估量的。因此，阿难，所有众生都应努力行布施之业。当时，阿难和许多眷属听闻了佛陀的教诲，都生起了信心和欢喜。有些人获得了入流果，有些人获得了一来果、不来果和阿罗汉果。有些人发起了对无上正等觉的

Then, from the time of his first birth until now, he has been holding a golden coin. The Blessed One was asked to explain. The Blessed One said to Ananda: Always listen and keep it in mind, and I will explain it to you. Ananda replied: I will hear it as such. The Blessed One said: In the past, ninety-one kalpas ago, a Buddha named Golden Stillness Tathagata appeared in the world, benefiting sentient beings with the sacred Dharma, which is unspeakable and immeasurable. That Buddha, together with the Sangha, traveled and went to various places. Some householders of great and noble families, wealthy and possessing riches and enjoyment, prepared various kinds of food and made offerings to the Buddha and the attendant noble Sangha. At that time, there was a poor man who owned nothing and always went to the mountains to gather wood and sell it. Later, he earned two copper coins from selling wood, and that poor man saw the Buddha and the Sangha being invited to the royal palace. He was overjoyed and delighted, and offered the two copper coins he possessed to the Buddha and the Sangha. The Blessed One, with compassion, accepted the two copper coins. The Blessed One said to Ananda: At that time, that poor man offered two copper coins to the Buddha and the Sangha, and as a result, for ninety-one kalpas, he always held a golden coin in his hand, and his wealth, jewels, and the enjoyment of life were inexhaustible. At that time, that poor man was this Bhikshu Golden Staff. Even though this person has not attained the fruit of an Arhat, the future ripening of the fruit is immeasurable. Therefore, Ananda, all sentient beings should strive to engage in the act of giving. At that time, Ananda and many attendants, having heard this teaching of the Buddha, developed faith and joy. Some attained the fruit of Stream-enterer, some attained Once-returner, Never-returner, and Arhat. Some generated the mind for unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment.
