天之经 天之经 印度语：デーヴァタスートラ (devatasūtra)。 藏语：天之经。 向所有佛和菩萨顶礼！ 我如是听闻：一时，世尊住在舍卫城，胜子园的给孤独园林中。 之后，夜晚将尽之时，一位容貌端严的天人前往世尊所在之处，到达后，以头顶礼世尊之足，然后坐于一旁。 之后，以该天人的威力，整个胜子园都被巨大的光明照亮。 之后，当时那位天人说了这些偈颂： 锋利的武器是什么？ 剧毒的哈拉哈拉是什么？ 猛烈燃烧的火焰是什么？ 极其黑暗的黑暗是什么？ 世尊开示说： 粗暴的语言是锋利的武器。 贪欲是剧毒的哈拉哈拉。 嗔恨是猛烈燃烧的火焰。 极其黑暗的黑暗是无明。 天人请问： 什么被人们抓住？ 什么被遗弃在这里？ 坚不可摧的盔甲是什么？ 在这里什么武器最锋利？ 世尊开示说： 我所布施的被抓住了。 留在家里的被遗弃在这里。 坚不可摧的盔甲是忍耐。 在这里智慧是最锋利的武器。 天人请问： 所谓的盗贼是什么？ 圣者们的财富是什么？ 在包括天神的世间， 所谓的欺骗是什么？ 世尊开示说： 分别念是狡猾的盗贼。 戒律是圣者们的财富。 那些违犯戒律的人， 那些人欺骗了世间。 天人请问： 所谓的快乐是什么？ 最好的自在是什么？ 什么是永远的庄严？ 什么是最高的？请开示。 世尊开示说： 知足是快乐。 知足是最好的自在。 具戒者永远庄严。 戒律的丧失是最高的。 天人请问： 容易满足的根本是什么？ 思想中怨恨的敌人是什么？ 难以忍受的痛苦是什么？ 最高的快乐是什么？ 世尊开示说： 容易满足的根本是福德。 罪恶是思想中怨恨的敌人。 地狱的痛苦是难以忍受的。

Thus have I heard: At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in Jeta's Grove in Anathapindika's Garden in Shravasti. Then, as the night was waning, a certain god of beautiful complexion went to the Blessed One, and having arrived, bowed his head at the Blessed One's feet and sat down to one side. Then, by the power of that god, the entire Jeta's Grove was illuminated with great light. Then, at that time, that god spoke these verses: What is the sharpest weapon? What is the poison of hala-hala? What is the most blazing fire? What is the darkest darkness? The Blessed One said: Harsh speech is the sharpest weapon. Desire is the poison of hala-hala. Hatred is the most blazing fire. The darkest darkness is ignorance. The god asked: What is seized by people? What is abandoned here? What is the unbreakable armor? What is the sharpest weapon here? The Blessed One said: What I have given is seized. What is left at home is abandoned here. The unbreakable armor is patience. Here, wisdom is the sharpest weapon. The god asked: What is called a thief? What is the wealth of the noble ones? In the world including the gods, What is called deception? The Blessed One said: Discrimination is a cunning thief. Morality is the wealth of the noble ones. Those who have fallen into wrong conduct, Those people have deceived the world. The god asked: What is called happiness? What is the best independence? What is the eternal adornment? What is the highest? Please explain. The Blessed One said: Knowing contentment is happiness. Contentment is the best independence. The virtuous are always adorned. The loss of morality is the highest. The god asked: What is the root of easy satisfaction? What is the enemy of hatred in thought? What is the unbearable suffering? What is the supreme bliss? The Blessed One said: The root of easy satisfaction is merit. Sin is the enemy of hatred in thought. The suffering of hell is unbearable.

Suffering unbearable, the supreme bliss of no aggregates. The gods asked: What is it that is painful but not beneficial? What is beneficial but not painful? What is the disease that causes harm? What is the one supreme physician? The Blessed One replied: Desire is painful but not beneficial, liberation is beneficial but not painful, attachment is the disease that causes harm, the one supreme physician is the Buddha. The gods asked: What obscures this world? What brings this world under control? What causes friends to separate? What prevents one from going to heaven? The Blessed One replied: Ignorance obscures this world, delusion brings it under control, attachment causes friends to separate, desire prevents one from going to heaven. The gods asked: What causes friends to increase? What causes enemies to be pacified? What causes one to attain heaven? What causes one to go to liberation? The Blessed One replied: Generosity causes friends to increase, loving-kindness causes enemies to be pacified, morality causes one to attain heaven, wisdom causes one to go to liberation. The gods asked: Kings and thieves, even if they guard very carefully, whether male or female, what is it that cannot be stolen? The Blessed One replied: Kings and thieves, even if they guard very carefully, whether male or female, what cannot be stolen is morality. The gods asked: What binds this world? What liberates this world? What is it that, when abandoned, is called nirvana? The Blessed One replied: Desire binds this world, non-desire liberates it, when craving is abandoned, it is called nirvana. The gods asked: What is it that cannot be destroyed by a fierce wind, nor burned by fire? What is it that blocks dangerous places, and cannot be penetrated by water? The Blessed One replied: What cannot be destroyed by a fierce wind, nor burned by fire, is merit. What covers all the earth, and cannot be penetrated by water, is merit. The gods asked: Who, having been greatly deceived, goes from this world to the other shore?

Yes. Now, please dispel this doubt of mine. The Bhagavan said: Whoever has wealth but does not accumulate merit, that person is truly deceived, and goes from this world to another. The god prayed: Having transcended all fears, possessing the power to overcome the world, the Brahmin has completely transcended sorrow, alas, I have seen him after a long time. After the Bhagavan spoke thus, that god was delighted, bowed his head at the feet of the Bhagavan, and then rejoiced, and immediately disappeared. The Sutra of the Gods is complete.
