《圣四法经》亦名《大乘经》。 《圣四法经》亦名《大乘经》。 梵语：Ārya-catur-dharma-nirdeśa-nāma-mahāyāna-sūtra。 藏语：འཕགས་པ་ཆོས་བཞི་བསྟན་པ་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་ཐེག་པ་ཆེན་པོའི་མདོ། (圣四法经亦名大乘经)。 顶礼一切佛及菩萨！ 如是我闻：一时，薄伽梵于三十三天众中，在善法堂天众集会处，与五百比丘众之大比丘僧团，以及慈氏、文殊等众多菩萨摩诃萨俱。尔时，薄伽梵告慈氏菩萨摩诃萨曰： 慈氏，菩萨摩诃萨若具足四法，则能胜伏已作已积之罪业。何谓四？即：令其现行之追悔，令其现行之对治，复原之力，以及依止力。何谓令其现行之追悔？谓行不善业后，深生后悔。何谓令其现行之对治？谓虽作不善业，然于善业极勤精进。何谓复原之力？谓如法受持律仪，获得不退转之律仪。何谓依止力？谓皈依佛、法、僧，不舍菩提心。依止此力，罪业不能胜伏。慈氏，菩萨摩诃萨若具足此四法，则能胜伏已作已积之罪业。菩萨摩诃萨应恒常读诵此经，讽诵此经，作意此经，修习此经，广弘此经。如是，则不善行不能生果。 薄伽梵如是说已，慈氏菩萨摩诃萨，诸比丘众，诸菩萨众，帝释天等诸天子，以及一切具足之眷属，皆大欢喜。

Thus have I heard: Once, the Blessed One was dwelling among the gods of the Thirty-Three, in the Good Dharma Hall, the gathering place of the gods, together with a great monastic community of five hundred fully ordained monks, and a great multitude of Bodhisattva-Mahāsattvas, such as Maitreya and Mañjuśrī. Then, the Blessed One spoke to the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva Maitreya, saying: Maitreya, if a Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva possesses four dharmas, they will overcome the sins they have committed and accumulated. What are the four? They are: the practice of thorough remorse, the practice of thorough antidotes, the power of restoration, and the power of reliance. What is the practice of thorough remorse? It is having great regret for engaging in non-virtuous actions. What is the practice of thorough antidotes? It is being extremely diligent in virtuous actions, even after having committed non-virtuous actions. What is the power of restoration? It is obtaining an irreversible commitment by properly taking vows. What is the power of reliance? It is taking refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and not abandoning the mind of enlightenment. By relying on this power, sins cannot overcome them. Maitreya, if a Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva possesses these four dharmas, they will overcome the sins they have committed and accumulated. The Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva should always read this sūtra, recite this sūtra, contemplate this sūtra, meditate on this sūtra, and propagate this sūtra widely. Thus, wrongly engaged actions will not be able to produce fruit. Having said this, the Blessed One, the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva Maitreya, the monks, the Bodhisattvas, the sons of the gods such as Indra, and all the assembled retinue rejoiced.
