Thus I have heard at one time, the Blessed One was among the gods of the Thirty-Three, on a stone slab like an Āmalaka fruit, together with the great Śrāvakas such as Aśvajit, and the Noble Maitreya, the Noble Avalokiteśvara, Vajrapāṇi, and other Bodhisattva-Mahāsattvas adorned with immeasurable qualities and jewels, and the lord of the Sahā world, Mahābrahmā, the son of Nirgrantha, Maheśvara, and other gods, and the lord of the gods, Indra, and the king of the Gandharvas, Pañcaśikha, together. Then, the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva Avalokiteśvara rose from his seat, draped his upper garment over one shoulder, pressed his right knee on the summit of Mount Meru, and with his palms joined together, bowed towards the Blessed One and said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, these gods all desire to build stupas, and are present in this assembly, so that Brahmā's merit may increase, and so that the merit of monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen among the beings in the world inhabited by gods, demons, and Brahmā, including ascetics and Brahmins, may greatly increase, Blessed One, please teach them the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One spoke the verses on dependent origination: Ye dharmā hetuprabhavā hetuṃsteṣāṃ tathāgato hyavadat। teṣāṃ ca yo nirodha evaṃvādī mahāśramaṇaḥ। (Sanskrit Devanagari: ये धर्मा हेतुप्रभवा हेतुंस्तेषां तथागतो ह्यवदत्। तेषां च यो निरोध एवंवादी महाश्रमणः।, Sanskrit Romanization: ye dharmā hetuprabhavā hetuṃsteṣāṃ tathāgato hyavadat। teṣāṃ ca yo nirodha evaṃvādī mahāśramaṇaḥ।, Literal Chinese meaning: All dharmas arise from causes, the Tathagata has spoken of their cause. 是逝者们的法身。谁见缘起，即见如来。观世音自在种姓之子或种姓之女，任何具信者，于不居之处，造塔如余甘子果之核般大小，立轴如针般大小，伞盖如巴库拉花般大小，内装缘起法性之偈，则彼将生梵天之福德，从此命终，死时将生于梵天世界。彼复命终，死时将与净居天众同分而生。世尊如是宣说后，诸声闻、诸菩萨、一切具足之眷属、天、人、阿修罗、乾闼婆等世间皆大欢喜，赞叹世尊所说。圣缘起经，大乘经圆满。印度堪布苏伦扎菩提，与校勘之译师班德耶谢德共同翻译、校勘、定稿。 圣缘起经，大乘经。

It is the Dharmakaya of the departed ones. Whoever sees dependent origination sees the Tathagata. Any son or daughter of a noble family of Avalokiteshvara, who has faith, should build a stupa the size of a myrobalan seed in a non-dwelling place, with a central pillar the size of a needle, and an umbrella the size of a bakula flower, and insert within it the verses on dependent origination, the essence of Dharma. That person will generate the merit of Brahma, and upon dying from here, at the time of death, will be born in the pure realms of Brahma. Then, upon dying again, at the time of death, they will be born sharing the same fate as the gods of the Pure Abodes. The Bhagavan spoke thus, and the assembly of those Shravakas, those Bodhisattvas, all those complete retinues, and the world with gods, humans, asuras, and gandharvas, rejoiced and praised what the Bhagavan had said.
