《圣慈氏请问大乘经》 《圣慈氏请问大乘经》 印度语：Ārya Maitri Paripṛcchā nāma Mahāyāna Sūtra。 藏语：《圣慈氏请问大乘经》。 向诸佛和菩萨顶礼！ 如是我闻，一时，薄伽梵（世尊）在王舍城鹫峰山，与大比丘僧众在一起，也与大菩萨僧众在一起。 之后，菩萨摩诃萨慈氏从座位上起身，将袈裟披于一肩，右膝着地，向薄伽梵所在的方向合掌，对薄伽梵如是禀告：薄伽梵，此中何为法布施的异熟果？ 如是禀告后，薄伽梵对菩萨摩诃萨慈氏如是开示：慈氏，若有人以七宝充满三千大千世界，其数量如恒河沙，以此供养如来、阿罗汉、正等觉诸佛，不如有人以慈悲心，将一句偈颂置于他人相续中，慈氏，此福德聚，前者之福德聚连百分之一都无法比及，千分之一，百千分之一，俱胝分之一，俱胝千亿分之一，数量、分量、计算、比喻和原因都无法比拟。 薄伽梵如是开示，善逝如是宣说后，导师又如是开示： 何人以恒河沙数世界土， 充满珍宝供养诸胜者， 不如以慈心施与一偈颂， 此偈颂之施胜于珍宝施。 珍宝布施虽极广且大， 然与生慈心之偈颂布施， 恒河沙数亦难及其分量， 何况二三遍思量于心间？ 薄伽梵如是开示后，菩萨……

The Noble Maitreya's Questions, Called the Great Vehicle Sutra The Noble Maitreya's Questions, Called the Great Vehicle Sutra In Indian language: Ārya Maitri Paripṛcchā nāma Mahāyāna Sūtra. In Tibetan: The Noble Maitreya's Questions, Called the Great Vehicle Sutra. Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus have I heard. At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in Rajagriha on Vulture Peak Mountain, together with a great community of monks, and also together with a great community of Bodhisattvas. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya rose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, knelt on his right knee, and, with his palms joined, bowed towards the Blessed One. He then said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, what is the ripening of the fruit of Dharma giving in this context?" Having thus spoken, the Blessed One said to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya: "Maitreya, if someone were to completely fill the three thousand great thousand worlds, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, with the seven precious jewels, and offer them to the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly complete Buddhas, it would not equal the merit of someone who, with compassion, places a single verse in the mindstream of another. Maitreya, the former accumulation of merit does not even come close to one part in a hundred of this accumulation of merit, not one part in a thousand, not one part in a hundred thousand, not one part in a koti, not one part in a koti trillion, it is not comparable in number, part, calculation, example, or cause." The Blessed One having thus spoken, the Sugata having thus said, the Teacher further declared: Whoever fills realms like Ganges sands, With jewels galore, to victors makes offering, Better to give beings one verse with loving heart, This verse-giving excels jewel-giving indeed. Though jewel-giving be vast and great, Compared to verse-giving with loving heart, Even Ganges' part and number cannot match, How then to ponder twice or thrice in mind?
