Chapter Twenty-Seven: Entrustment Chapter Twenty-Seven: Entrustment Then, the Blessed One, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened Buddha Shakyamuni, arose from the Dharma seat and gathered all the endowed Bodhisattvas. With his right hand, which perfectly manifested miraculous powers, he took hold of their right hands and at that time spoke these words: "Noble sons, this unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment that I have attained through countless eons, hundreds of thousands of millions of nayutas, I entrust into your hands. After Shakyamuni Buddha spoke these words, those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas were filled with joy and supreme delight. They greatly praised and then, bowing their bodies, extremely bowing their bodies, gathering their bodies, lowering their heads, and joining their palms, towards the place where the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened Buddha Shakyamuni was. All of them, with one voice, requested the Blessed One, the Tathagata, Shakyamuni Buddha, saying: "Blessed One, we will certainly follow and execute the words spoken by the Tathagata. Those assemblies, and the extraordinary conduct, etc., the countless immeasurable Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who emerged from the earth, and those great Shravakas, and those fourfold retinues, and the world with gods, humans, asuras, and gandharvas, rejoiced in their hearts and praised the Blessed One's teachings. The twenty-seventh chapter, called "Entrustment Chapter," from the White Lotus of the Sacred Dharma, is complete. Wherever this sutra exists, even if piles of burning charcoal are heaped up, even if one has to cross over places filled with sharp knives, sons of good family should go there. The extensive and complete sutra of the Dharma categories of the Noble White Lotus of Dharma, which advises the Bodhisattvas. Held by all Buddhas, the great secret of all Buddhas.
