Homage to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus have I heard. At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling on the summit of Mount Meru, in the nocturnal abode of all the gods, together with countless billions of bodhisattvas. Then, the Blessed One, with the gods, sons of gods, asuras, wind gods, flying ones, nāgas, yakṣas, humans and non-humans, rākṣasas, all the vidyādharas, and goblins, heretics, flesh-eaters, visible and invisible assemblies of mātaras, exceedingly numerous and vast, gathered in a maṇḍala of five yojanas. Surrounded by twelve hundred and fifty monks, he stood before them and taught the Dharma. Then, the bodhisattva mahāsattva Vajrapāṇi, completely surrounded by all the vajra families, all the assemblies of vidyās and mudrās, and completely surrounded by countless billions of vidyādharas, went to where the Blessed One was. Having arrived, he descended from the sky and bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One, circumambulated the Blessed One three times, and then sat down on one side.
