Explaining the second Pārājika. Explaining the second Pārājika. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was staying in the Kalandaka bird sanctuary in the Light Grove. At that time, the former potter bhikkhu Dhana lived in a monastery hut in Rajagriha. Then, when the former potter bhikkhu Dhana entered Rajagriha for alms, the cowherds, shepherds, grass cutters, wood cutters, those who lived by the road, and those who lived by getting lost in Rajagriha destroyed and completely demolished the hut, and also took away all the grass and wood. After that, the former potter bhikkhu Dhana came, and so on. Similarly, starting from the former potter bhikkhu Dhana, up to five mashakas or more than five mashakas. Then, the Buddha, the Bhagavan, said, "Because of this event, this topic, this thing, at this time, I will convene the Sangha of both sides." And so on. Until "The Sangha of both sides knows that I will establish a good foundation for learning the Vinaya." The Buddhas, the Bhagavan, act knowingly, act knowingly, not unknowingly. Until here, everything should be narrated as before, like the first Pārājika. Similarly, up to the ten benefits, it should be narrated as before, like the first Pārājika. Furthermore, any bhikkhuni, whether living in a village or a monastery, takes something that belongs to the category of what is not given, however much she takes that is not given, the king or a minister seizes her and says to her, "Hey, bhikkhuni, you are a thief! A child! A fool! A robber!" Then they may kill, bind, or exile her. If that bhikkhuni takes what is not given in that way, that bhikkhuni also commits a Pārājika and cannot live together. Any bhikkhuni refers to the four types of bhikkhunis, namely, the nominal bhikkhuni, the self-proclaimed bhikkhuni, the bhikkhuni for the sake of learning, and the bhikkhuni for the sake of abandoning afflictions, up to here, it should be narrated as before, like the first Pārājika. "Others" refers to

If a Bhikṣuṇī takes valuable belongings without being given, she commits a pārājika offense. What are the three cases? By oneself, by instruction, and by dispatch. How is it by oneself? Stealing by oneself, instigating theft by oneself, and hiding the item from one place to another by oneself; thus, it is by oneself. How is it by instruction? Stealing after instructing, instigating theft after instructing, and hiding the item from one place to another after instructing; thus, it is by instruction. How is it by dispatch? Stealing after dispatching, instigating theft after dispatching, and hiding the item from one place to another after dispatching; thus, it is by dispatch. If a Bhikṣuṇī takes valuable belongings of others without being given through these three causes, she commits a pārājika offense. Furthermore, if a Bhikṣuṇī takes valuable belongings of others through three causes, she commits a pārājika offense. What are the three? Not given, valuable, and hiding from one place to another. How is it not given? Not given by anyone, whether male, female, or hermaphrodite; such is not given. How is it valuable? Five māṣakas or more than five māṣakas; thus, it is valuable. How is it hiding from one place to another? Moving from the place where it was placed and putting it in another place; thus, it is hiding from one place to another. If a Bhikṣuṇī takes valuable belongings of others without being given through these three causes, she commits a pārājika offense. Furthermore, if a Bhikṣuṇī takes valuable belongings of others without being given through three causes, she commits a pārājika offense. What are the three? Thinking, striving, and hiding from one place to another. Therefore, the verses of the summary should be spoken extensively as they appear in the analysis of the Bhikṣu, and the word "Bhikṣu" that appears therein should be translated as "Bhikṣuṇī" in this analysis of the Bhikṣuṇī. The second pārājika is complete. || Explanation of the second pārājika.
