The ritual of the Torma offering for dispelling obstacles by Moka Barma. I prostrate to the Three Jewels! Then, the Bhagavan was in the Nyagrodha grove in Kapilavastu, teaching the Dharma together with a great Sangha of monks, a great assembly of Bodhisattvas, and a great assembly of sentient beings. Then, Ananda sat in solitude, focusing inwardly and contemplating with one-pointed mind, realizing the Dharma directly. In the late part of the night, Moka Barma appeared before him and said, "O Ananda, you will die tomorrow and be reborn in this place." Ananda asked, "Is there a way to avert this?" She said, "Ananda, if you offer food and drink to each of the grains of sand in the Ganges River, amounting to billions of trillions of nayutas (khrak thrig phrag 'bum) of sand, each portion equivalent to seven large brebo measures of Magadha, and satisfy a hundred thousand Brahmin sages, and then make offerings to the Three Jewels in my name, then your life will be prolonged, and I will also pass away from the realm of ghosts and be reborn in the heavenly realm." Then, Ananda saw Moka Barma, who was emaciated, with a bad complexion and a withered body, flames blazing from her mouth, her stomach and mouth parched, her hair disheveled, and her hair and nails long. Hearing her unpleasant and disagreeable words, he was frightened and terrified, his hair standing on end. He rose from his seat and, with great haste and speed, went to where the Bhagavan was, prostrated at the Bhagavan's feet, and said, trembling, "Bhagavan, please protect me! Sugata, please protect me! I will die tomorrow. Bhagavan, I saw Moka Barma, and she said that I would die tomorrow. I asked her if there was a way to avert this, and she said that if I could satisfy the number of grains of sand in the Ganges River, amounting to billions of trillions of nayutas, and satisfy a hundred thousand Brahmin sages, then my life would be prolonged. Bhagavan, please instruct me on how to accomplish this."

如是世尊、如来、释迦牟尼佛告具寿阿难陀曰：阿难陀，勿惧有能令汝等及婆罗门仙人皆得饱满之方便。阿难陀，有名称为一切光明具足大力光之陀罗尼，仅以此布施，即能令如恒河沙数俱胝那庾多百千之沙数众生皆得饱满，且每一婆罗门仙人皆得摩揭陀国七罐之饮食。我昔为婆罗门时，曾从菩提萨埵摩诃萨埵自在世界及如来自在世界光处受持此陀罗尼，我曾以此令无数婆罗门仙人皆得饮食饱满，彼等一切皆于此世间命终后，转生于天界。阿难陀，汝当受持忆念之。那嘛 萨瓦 达他嘎达 阿瓦洛给 爹 嗡 桑巴ra 桑巴ra 吽。（藏文：ན་མཿསརྦ་ཏ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏ་ཨ་བ་ལོ་ཀི་ཏེ་ཨོཾ་སམྦྷ་ར་སམྦྷ་ར་ཧཱུ~ཾ།，梵文天城体：नमः सर्व तथागत अवलोकिते ओम् सम्भर सम्भर हुं，梵文罗马拟音：namaḥ sarva tathāgata avalokite oṃ sambhara sambhara hūṃ，汉语字面意思：顶礼，一切，如来，观自在，嗡，圆满，圆满，吽）阿难陀，以此咒于食子上诵七遍，伸开手于门前布施之，亦当击打铙钹。如是行持，甫布施已，即能令四方恒河沙数俱胝百千之沙数众生皆得饱满，且每一众生皆得摩揭陀国七罐之饮食。彼等仅食此食，即从此世间命终后，转生于诸天之中。阿难陀，汝当恒常不断地为比丘、比丘尼、优婆塞、优婆夷等宣说此法。如是行持，即能具足福德聚，且能长寿。亦能具足如来俱胝百千之福德聚。亦能恒常不为非人游荡之鬼神、食肉者等、夜叉、罗刹、邪魔等所见。亦能具足力量与精进。亦能具足相好、威光与正念。婆罗

The Blessed One, the Tathagata Shakyamuni, said to the venerable Ananda: "Ananda, do not be afraid, for there is a way to satisfy you and the Brahmin sages. Ananda, there is a dharani called 'Great King Powerful Light,' which is endowed with light in all directions. By merely giving with it, it will satisfy as many beings as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River, a billion trillion hundred thousand times over. And each Brahmin sage will be given seven measures of food and drink from the land of Magadha. When I was once a Brahmin, I received this from the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Lokeshvara and the Tathagata Lokeshvara Light. With it, I satisfied a great and vast number of Brahmin sages with food and drink. All of them, having died and passed away from this world, were born in the world of the gods. Ananda, you should hold and remember this: namaḥ sarva tathāgata avalokite oṃ sambhara sambhara hūṃ (藏文：ན་མཿསརྦ་ཏ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏ་ཨ་བ་ལོ་ཀི་ཏེ་ཨོཾ་སམྦྷ་ར་སམྦྷ་ར་ཧཱུ~ཾ།，梵文天城体：नमः सर्व तथागत अवलोकिते ओम् सम्भर सम्भर हुं，梵文罗马拟音：namaḥ sarva tathāgata avalokite oṃ sambhara sambhara hūṃ，汉语字面意思：顶礼，一切，如来，观自在，嗡，圆满，圆满，吽). Ananda, recite this mantra seven times over the offering cake, stretch out your hand, and give it at the door. Also, strike the cymbal. By doing so, as soon as you give, it will satisfy as many beings as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River in the four directions, a billion trillion hundred thousand times over. And each one will be given seven measures of food from the land of Magadha. Just by eating this, they will die and pass away from this world and be born among the gods. Ananda, you should always and constantly tell this to monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen. By doing so, you will be endowed with a heap of merit and will also have a long life. You will also be endowed with a heap of merit equal to a billion trillion Tathagatas. You will always be invisible to non-human wandering spirits, flesh-eaters, yakshas, rakshasas, demons, and so on. 想要使婆罗门仙人感到满足的人，应该将装满供品和布施之物的器皿念诵七遍，然后在有流水的地方布施。这样做，婆罗门仙人就如同恒河沙数般，以天人的食物和饮料感到满足。那些婆罗门仙人也会感到心满意足，他们都会发出“嗡，吉祥如意”的声音，那些众生的心念也会完全清净，拥有婆罗门的荣耀，并且常常行持梵行。如来也如同恒河沙数般，具有善根，一切怨敌也常常被摧毁。对于花朵、熏香、香、食物和饮料等供品，念诵二十一遍后，应该供养佛、法、僧。这样做，无论是善男子、善女子、比丘、比丘尼、近事男还是近事女，都将以天人的供养和如来的殊胜供养来供养十方一切如来的佛土中的佛、法、僧。将被视为上师，被视为侍从。一切如来都会忆念并授记，一切天神也会普遍守护。阿难陀，去吧，也要忏悔！也要为一切众生反复正确地宣说！也要积聚一切善根之聚！我如是说。摩卡巴尔玛出息食子仪轨完毕。

Those who wish to satisfy the Brahmin sages should recite seven times over a vessel filled with offerings and alms, and then give it in a place where there is flowing water. By doing so, the Brahmin sages will be satisfied with divine food and drink, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River. Those Brahmin sages will also be satisfied in their senses, and they will all utter the sound of "Om, may it be auspicious!" Those beings will also have completely pure thoughts, possess the glory of Brahmins, and always practice celibacy. The Tathagata will also possess roots of virtue, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, and all enemies will always be destroyed. For offerings such as flowers, incense, perfume, food, and drink, recite twenty-one times and then offer them to the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. By doing so, whether it is a son of good family, a daughter of good family, a monk, a nun, a male lay practitioner, or a female lay practitioner, they will be offering to the Buddhas, Dharma, and Sangha in the Buddha-fields of all the Tathagatas of the ten directions with divine offerings and the supreme offerings of the Tathagatas. They will be regarded as a guru and as an attendant. All the Tathagatas will remember and prophesy, and all the gods will also protect them. Ananda, go and also confess! Also, repeatedly and correctly explain to all beings! Also, accumulate all collections of roots of virtue! Thus I speak. The ritual of the exhaling torma of Mokha Barma is complete.
