In Sanskrit: Arya Cakṣur Viśodhana nāma vidyā mantra. In Tibetan: The wisdom mantra called "The Noble Purification of the Eye." Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Thus have I heard at one time. The Blessed One was dwelling among the Shakyas in a certain beautiful town of the Shakyas. At that time, in a place called Statusa, there lived a Shakya named Deva who had great faith in the Buddha, great faith in the Dharma and the Sangha. He had gone for refuge to the Buddha, gone for refuge to the Dharma, gone for refuge to the Sangha. He was single-minded towards the Buddha, single-minded towards the Dharma, single-minded towards the Sangha. He had no hesitation or doubt about the Buddha, and no hesitation or doubt about the Dharma and the Sangha, suffering, the origin of suffering, the cessation of suffering, and the path. He saw the truth, attained the fruit, and became enlightened. He was living in a place where weapons and sticks had been abandoned, and the visible and invisible forms were not appearing to his eyes. Then, he developed faith in the Buddha, the Blessed One, and kept it in mind, and paid homage to the Buddha, the Blessed One. Homage to the Buddha, the Blessed One, the maker of light, the holder of the lamp, the holder of clarity. I beseech the Sugata, who is endowed with great compassion, to make it clear. Blessed One, I beseech you to purify my eyes. As he said this, the Blessed One, dwelling in the abode of the gods, with his pure divine ear, surpassing that of humans, heard the words spoken by Shakya Deva. Having heard this, he arose from that samadhi and spoke to the venerable Ananda: Ananda, go and protect Shakya Deva with this wisdom mantra that purifies the eyes. Completely take hold of him, completely protect him, completely guard him, make him peaceful, make him happy and auspicious, eliminate severance, eliminate weapons, destroy poison, kill poison, set boundaries, and bind the earth. In the same way, purify the eyes of the fourfold assembly, the monks, the nuns, the laymen, the laywomen, and other sentient beings. Purify the sockets of the eyes, and make the eyes free from disease.

Ananda, this queen of knowledge-mantras, the complete purification of the eyes, eliminates eye ailments, wind ailments, bile ailments, phlegm ailments, and ailments arising from their combination. By the truth of morality, the truth of asceticism, the truth of the righteous, the truth of dependent origination, the truth of suffering, the truth of the origin, the truth of cessation, the truth of the path, the truth of the Arhats, the truth of the self-enlightened ones, and the truth of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, may the eyes of Shakya Deva not be obstructed. May tears not fall. May tears not fall constantly. May the eyes of myself and all sentient beings be completely purified, Svaha. Ananda, this queen of knowledge-mantras, the complete purification of the eyes, was spoken by six perfectly enlightened Buddhas. I will also explain it now. The four great kings, Indra, the lord of the gods, and Brahma, the lord of the world, also rejoice. Ananda, if anyone recites this knowledge-mantra three times, I have not seen in this world of beings, including gods, demons, Brahma, ascetics, Brahmins, gods, humans, and Asuras, that they would be afflicted by thickening, dimness, cataracts, seeing blue eye diseases, or eye ailments caused by gods, nagas, gandharvas, yakshas, rakshasas, flesh-eaters, curses, corpses, corpses and curses, wanderers, or wanderers and corpses. That is impossible. The venerable Ananda listened to the Bhagavat, and said, "Bhagavat, it is so." He then took these foundations of secret mantras and fully understood them.

之后去了释迦德瓦所在的地方，对德瓦说：如来将这些清净眼睛的秘密真言之基托付给你，每天三次忆念。释迦德瓦一听到，眼睛立刻清净，眼睛清净后，以无垢的眼睛看见一切。世尊如是说后，具寿阿难陀、释迦德瓦以及包括天神在内的世间皆大欢喜，对世尊所说表示赞叹。《圣妙清净眼》明咒终。

Then he went to where Shakya Deva was and said to Deva: "The Tathagata entrusts these bases of secret mantras for purifying the eyes to you. Remember them three times a day." As soon as Shakya Deva heard this, his eyes were immediately purified. With purified eyes, he saw everything with immaculate eyes. After the Bhagavan spoke thus, the venerable Ananda, Shakya Deva, and the world including the gods rejoiced and praised what the Bhagavan had said. The knowledge-mantra called 'Arya Eye Purification' is complete.
