In Sanskrit: Arya Marichi Nama Dharani. In Tibetan: The Dharani called "Noble Light-emitting One". I prostrate to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Thus I have heard at one time. The Blessed One, while in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove, in Anathapindika's monastery. Together with a great Sangha of thirteen hundred and fifty monks, and many Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Then, the Blessed One spoke to the monks: Monks, there is a goddess called Light-emitting One, she walks before the sun and the moon. She is invisible, intangible, unbindable, unstoppable, insurmountable, unbewildering, unseverable by punishment, un-beheadable, unbendable, unburnable, she does not fall into the hands of enemies. Monks, whoever knows the name of the goddess Light-emitting One, he is also invisible, intangible, unbindable, unstoppable, insurmountable, unbewildering, unseverable by punishment, un-beheadable, unbendable, unburnable, he will not fall into the hands of enemies. Likewise, because I also know the name of the goddess Light-emitting One, may I also become invisible, may I become intangible, may I become unbindable, may I become unstoppable, may I become insurmountable, may I become unbewildering, may I become unseverable by punishment, may I become un-beheadable, may I become unbendable, may I become unburnable, may I not fall into the hands of enemies. These are the words of the secret mantra: Tadyatha. Om Patakramas, Varakramas, Udayamas, Nairamas, Rkkamas, Mrkkamas, Urmamas, Panamas, Gulmamas, Tsivaramas, Maha Tsivarramas, Antaradhanamasi Svaha. Om, Goddess Light-emitting One, please protect me on the road, please protect me from the wrong path, please protect me from the fear of beings, please protect me from the fear of the king, please protect me from the fear of the elephant, please protect me from the fear of thieves, please protect me from the fear of nagas, please protect me from the fear of lions.

Protect me from snakes! Svāhā. Protect me from all fears and harms, the spread of diseases, and all conflicts! Protect, protect!
