Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus have I heard: At one time, the Blessed One, while traveling through the country from Magadha, went to the Mango Grove and, having arrived, resided in the rock cave of the Mango Grove, the Lord of Manifest Mountain. Then, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, went to where the Blessed One was, and having arrived, bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One and sat to one side. Having sat to one side, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said this to the Blessed One: Blessed One, the Asuras are very harmful. Blessed One, the Asuras have long been enemies who oppose me. May this (mantra) utterly destroy the violent actions of crops, and completely pacify all fighting, arguing, quarreling, and fault-finding. Now, I shall explain the knowledge-mantra that bestows fearlessness upon all.
