Praised by the sons of the kinnaras, the kimpurushas, and the great asuras, this (mantra), which fulfills all hopes, is obscured by many great obscurations. Whoever hears, holds, recites, reads, or sees and fully understands it, will completely purify all their karmic obscurations and afflictive obscurations. If one recites it once upon waking in the morning, the Lotus Hand (Avalokiteśvara) will follow like a shadow. Whatever needs one desires in their mind will be accomplished merely by thinking of it. Sitting alone in utter solitude, focusing on bringing the Buddha to mind, and remembering the Bhagavan Lotus Hand, reciting it seven times, one will obtain whatever noble desire one has. One will become pleasing to all sentient beings. All their bad migrations will cease. If one walks or sits for a short while and recites it in their mind, one will purify the karma accumulated over countless billions of eons. One will possess a great accumulation of merit equal to that accumulated by a thousand universal monarchs. In life after life, one will be born into a great lotus lineage. One will be honored by distinguished individuals. Filling one's hands with fragrant flowers, reciting it seven times before the noble Avalokiteśvara, one will obtain a thousand great qualities. The light of the Dharma nature of great compassion will also arise in that person. One will possess great vows. Gazing upon his face and reciting, one will see the ever-smiling face of the Bhagavan, the noble Avalokiteśvara, and one will obtain what is called "the first stainless light of the Dharma nature." In this very life, one will obtain the remembrance of the Buddha. One will die while maintaining a state of equanimity in one's mind. In all lifetimes, one will remember one's previous lives. If one wishes to eliminate all karmic obscurations as desired, then on the full moon day of the fifth month, observe a fast, wear white clothes, and before a stupa containing relics or a statue, smear a mandala with white sandalwood, scatter various flowers on the mandala and the Bhagavan, and offer incense to the Bhagavan and the noble Avalokiteśvara.

By making offerings of delicious incense, butter lamps, and incense, and staying there and reciting it one hundred and eight times, one will be separated from all sins. Even committing the five inexpiable sins will purify sins, and one will possess an extremely pure mind stream, and will possess extremely pure actions of body, speech, and mind. The Tathagatas constantly and continuously accomplish the power of samadhi, the power of empowerment, the power of the bhumis and paramitas, and the power of special wisdom. If you look up at the sky and recite, it will rain. If you look at the ground and recite, all crops will become good. If you look at the place of rivers, lakes, and ponds and recite, water will spring forth. If you touch all diseases with your hand and recite, they will be healed. If you recite in front of someone who has lost their memory, they will regain their memory. If you look at the face of someone who is hungry and thirsty and recite, they will be satisfied. If a great plague occurs, write it on cloth and hang it on the top of a banner, and up to one krosha (about two kilometers) will be demarcated and protected.
