In the language of India: Arya Chandanangana Nama Dharani. In Tibetan: The Noble Dharani Called "Branch of Sandalwood". I prostrate to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus have I heard. At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in Rajagriha, together with a great Sangha of monks, a great Sangha of 12,500 monks, and many Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, as well as many extraordinary gods. Then, the Blessed One, seated on a prepared seat, was radiantly, brilliantly, and luminously present through the miraculous power of the Tathagata. Then, the Blessed One addressed the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas Avalokiteshvara and Chandraprabha Kumara in that assembly, saying: "Son of good family, beyond this world, far beyond countless worlds equaling the sands of the Ganges River, there is a world called 'Splendor of Sandalwood.' There, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha called 'Branch of Sandalwood' still resides, lives, and teaches the Dharma. All the beings in that world are non-regressors. The Blessed One, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha 'Branch of Sandalwood,' for the benefit of all beings, has spoken the root of the vidya mantra of the dharani called 'Branch of Sandalwood.' Having heard this, those non-regressors will be free from sin and will not be separated from the mind of enlightenment. Blessed One, the Tathagata Amitayus, the Tathagata Dipankara, the Tathagata Vairochana, and other past Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, have also spoken it in the past. I will also tell you, for the sake of embracing all beings, listen well and keep it in mind. In the future, in the last five hundred years of the degenerate age, when the sacred Dharma is about to perish, everything will be incompatible with the Dharma, committing the five heinous crimes, slandering the sacred Dharma, destroying stupas, and stealing the property of the Sangha.

Then, the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara and the youth Candraprabha bowed their heads to the feet of the Bhagavan and requested: For the sake of compassion and purification of sins for the Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas and other hundreds of thousands of kotis of nayutas of beings, please, Bhagavan, speak, Sugata speak, Tathagata speak. We will also hold these root mantras of the dhāraṇī, and for the benefit of all beings, we will extensively and truly explain them. I prostrate to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Tadyathā. Cirāte. 即使太阳和月亮会从地上坠落，天空也能用双手按住，火能变成水，四大也能转变，一切众生的心也能变成一个，但是，如来说过并加持过的，是不可能改变的，谁也不能移动或摇动它。恶魔是无法从中找到破绽的。然后，菩萨摩诃萨观世音自在，向世尊顶礼，这样说道：世尊，我也要宣说这个陀罗尼的仪轨。在法王的佛塔舍利塔前，或者在佛像前，制作白色檀香的坛城，撒上花朵，用檀香熏香，从初一开始到初五，每天三次沐浴，衣服也换三次，献上焚烧的食物，具有斋戒，以平等心对待一切众生，在月圆之日禁食一天，睡在草垫上，或者铺上草垫，一心一意地念诵，用香花供养百千次，就会感动，自己也能见到世尊如来无量光和观世音自在。一听到这个大陀罗尼，就能得到想要的东西，也能听闻并受持，一切业障也能清净。世尊这样开示后，那些比丘和菩萨，以及一切具足的眷属，天、人、阿修罗和乾闼婆等世间众生都心生欢喜，对世尊所说的话语表示赞叹。《圣檀木枝》陀罗尼圆满。印度堪布吉那弥扎和达那希拉，以及校对的译师班德耶谢德共同翻译、校对，并用新语重新修订并确定。

Even if the sun and moon were to fall upon the earth, and the sky could be pressed down with both hands, and fire could turn into water, and the four great elements could transform, and the minds of all sentient beings could become one, but what has been spoken and blessed by the Tathagata cannot be changed. No one can move or shake it. The wicked demon will not find a loophole in this. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Avalokiteśvara, after prostrating to the Bhagavan, spoke thus: "Bhagavan, I will also explain the ritual of this dharani. In front of the stupa containing the relics of the Dharma King, or in front of the Buddha's image, make a mandala of white sandalwood, scatter flowers, fumigate with sandalwood incense, from the first day of the month to the fifth day, bathe three times a day and change clothes three times, offer burnt food, observe the fast, with equanimity towards all sentient beings, fast for one day on the full moon day, sleep on a grass mat, or lie down on a spread grass mat, recite with one-pointed mind, and offer fragrant flowers a hundred thousand times, and you will be moved, and you will see the Bhagavan Tathagata Amitabha and Avalokiteśvara. As soon as you hear this great dharani, you will get what you want, and you will also hear and hold it, and all karmic obscurations will be purified." After the Bhagavan spoke thus, those monks and bodhisattvas, and all the complete retinues, the gods, humans, asuras and gandharvas and other beings of the world rejoiced and praised the words spoken by the Bhagavan. The Dharani called "Noble Sandalwood Branch" is complete.
