Homage to the all-knowing one! Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Homage to the Bhagavan Tathagata Wisdom Eye! Homage to the Tathagata Golden Light Accumulation Manifestation! Homage to the Tathagata Truthful Speech! Homage to the Tathagata King Who Proclaims the Sound of Fear! Then, the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra and the Bodhisattva Mañjuśrī Kumārabhūta, as well as the Bodhisattva Dhāraṇīśvararāja and the Bodhisattva Vajrapāṇi, these four Bodhisattvas and those Tathagatas were dwelling in the positions of the moon and the sun. Then, the two sons of the gods, the moon and the sun, went to the places where those Tathagatas were dwelling, and to the places where those Bodhisattvas were. O noble sons, if sentient beings dwell in the Avici hell, remain for a kalpa, commit the five heinous crimes, abandon the holy Dharma, and for the sake of those sentient beings, these words of the dharani are recited three times during the day and three times during the night for twenty-one days, then, by the power of these words of the dharani, the great hell of Avici will be split into a hundred parts, and those sentient beings will be completely liberated, what need is there to mention the people of Jambudvipa? Those who hear these words should know that we are completely embraced by the four Tathagatas, the four Bodhisattvas, and the moon and the sun. Do not have any doubt or hesitation about this."
