Not by intellectual fabrication, Whatever arises, forms, sounds, smells, tastes, textures, The essence of various appearances, Like the moon's reflection appearing in water, Although appearing distinctly separate, Their essence appears as emptiness. Numerous conceptual thoughts are also like that, Because abiding, moving, and essence are without difference, Self-liberation is like water and water waves. That is called selflessness of phenomena. Although emptiness is fully realized, Still, there are many times of distraction and forgetfulness. In times of distraction, that ordinary delusion, Whatever afflictions arise are ordinary. Only reached afterward by mindfulness. Thinking badly and regretting due to distraction. In times of distraction, toward afflictive conceptual thoughts, Like looking outward, when looking, As before, emptiness is seen nakedly. At this time, mindfulness again and again, Clearly reminding is seen as very important. Distraction and non-distraction are without difference, Mindfulness and non-mindfulness are without difference, Delusion and non-delusion are without difference, Thinking that everything is empty, Occasionally, a rough sketch of understanding arises. If one becomes too confident and lax about that, There is a danger of falling into ordinariness. The distinction between understanding and realization is crucial, Throw the understanding from examples and teachings behind you, From confidence, Arises the realization that distraction and non-distraction are without difference. Although in meaning it is like that, Still, the clear reminder of mindfulness, Must not be forgotten, again and again needed. Why is that? Because of the five poisons', Unsubdued bad words, etc., When hearing, responding with a slip of the tongue, etc., Occurring is definitely a fault of distraction. Therefore, mindfulness afterward is needed again and again. Now there is still clarity and non-clarity, In times of non-clarity, how should one look? This, in the essence of non-meditation, Empty and blank, neither this nor that. If one is not satisfied with that, Then realization is lost. In experience, there is no choosing good or bad, Holding in your heart, be content with whatever arises. Although distraction and non-distraction are without difference, Still, make a clear reminder of non-distraction, Just that, immediately say what is remembered. Clearly remind with the ocean of diligence. Above this is the handwriting. Below this are the student's words. Thus, in the Water Hare year (1963), On the waxing crescent of the seventh month, In a place near the sacred site of Rinchen, Residing one night behind Dratang Gar (འདྲ་ཐང་སྒར།), At that time, when we met, Offering a auspicious Khata, And a mandala of ten srangs of vermillion, Serving tea to the Sangha, Not just verbal respect, But with devotion of the three doors, after prostrating.

When I prayed to tell of the experiences and realizations of my own mind, the venerable Ra Ga Asya, an emanation of the actual Chenrezig (Avalokiteśvara), personally wrote and gave me this oral instruction that dispels the darkness of the heart. Such a precious wish-fulfilling jewel of secret mantra oral transmission, even if sought in the three realms, is thought to be extremely difficult to find. It is like the heart essence of the ocean of diligence. Thinking that countless fortunate ones in the future will benefit from it, the key points without sequence are listed separately. This is a secret oath only to be given to worthy vessels. May there be auspiciousness!
