All the perfect enjoyments, do not dedicate to the deceased, but accept them as the fortune of the living. Saying this, place all the auspicious items such as tsampa and arrow banners in the hands of the son and grandson, and then place tea, wine, tsampa, ghee, milk, yogurt, etc. in bowls and plates. Arrange the silk cloths inside and out. Alas! The mellow barley wine, condensed with the essence of various grains, is dedicated to the deceased to eliminate the suffering of thirst. Ghee tea, containing the essence of trees, is dedicated to the deceased to satisfy the senses. Yogurt is a delicious delicacy, dedicated to the deceased to satisfy the sense of taste. Milk is the essence of mellow drinks, dedicated to the deceased to nourish the body. Ghee and meat sauce are the best of foods, dedicated to the deceased to eliminate the suffering of hunger. Tsampa made from the finest grains is the essence of burnt offerings, dedicated to the deceased to satisfy the body, speech, and mind. May the suffering of hunger and thirst be pacified! May this pure incense smoke purify the three poisons dedicated to the deceased! Offer incense. Alas, deceased, you have passed away! All the affairs of the living who have not died are completed. The great fortune has been seen. Many possessions have been left to the descendants. Now, for you who have passed away, the share allocated by heaven is on the crown of your head, and the share allocated by earth is on the soles of your feet. After your death, parents, sons, and grandsons will make extensive offerings to the Sangha of the Lama, give alms to beggars, and teach the Dharma to neighbors and relatives. I, the geomancer, will also build a good temple for you. Separate from the flesh-eating demons of Yama, and make many offerings and accumulate merit. Also offer generous rewards to the Lama and geomancer. Accumulate many necessary items. Now, when building your tomb, do not be jealous or quarrelsome. Do not race at intersections and villages. Do not gamble in valleys. In the market where many gods and demons gather, do not compete for fame and fortune. Do not fight with gods and demons. Do not let sons and grandsons cry. Do not spread bad rumors about the bride. Do not slaughter large numbers of cattle and sheep. When you were alive, you were a powerful and majestic official, and now that you have passed away, may you also become a powerful, upright, and virtuous deceased, practicing the Dharma.
