Protector, come forth, you who possess the commitment! Now is the time of the five degenerations, The five inexpiable sins are all practiced, And all are mired in the swamp of afflictions. Behold, even the evil realms of the departed, Before the eyes of Śākya Siṃha, You have taken this vow and promise, To protect the doctrine of the guide, And for the sake of benefiting all sentient beings. All who dwell in the northern direction, Please come forth for the sake of sentient beings! Oṃ Vaiśravaṇaye Svāhā! Sa Parivāra Vajra Samaya Jaḥ! Jaḥ Hūṃ Baṃ Hoḥ! Oṃ Vai Svāhā! Then, offer the offering substances. Kye! From the northern direction of the great Mount Meru, From the palace of the willow grove, From the throne of the fearless lion, Glorious Protector Vaishravana, Adorned with golden armor, Holding a precious staff and a mongoose.
