The Condensed Sutra of the Eight Manifestations The Condensed Sutra of the Eight Manifestations The Condensed Sutra of the Eight Manifestations is hereby presented. It is said that reciting the Eight Manifestations three times will accomplish whatever is needed and eliminate all faults and shortcomings. Namo Manzaiye. The eyes discern various forms and colors. Form itself is emptiness. Emptiness itself is form. The ears hear various sounds. Sound itself is emptiness. Emptiness itself is sound. The nose perceives various smells. Smell itself is emptiness. Emptiness itself is smell. The tongue distinguishes various tastes. Taste itself is emptiness. Emptiness itself is taste. The body discerns various sensations. Sensation itself is emptiness. Emptiness itself is sensation. Wisdom discerns various dharmas. Wisdom itself is emptiness. Emptiness itself is wisdom. All suns are virtuous. All stars are good. All Arhats are without outflows. All Buddhas possess great miraculous powers. The sun of birth is extremely virtuous. The sun of gathering is extremely good. For the merit of the living and the dead, reading it will cause merit to be obtained. The unsurpassed Bodhisattva, the Bodhisattva with perfectly pure eyes, the Bodhisattva with the splendor of mountains, the virtuous friend Bodhisattva, the harmonious Bodhisattva, the great protector Bodhisattva, the Chakravartin king Bodhisattva, the stainless Bodhisattva, I prostrate to these Bodhisattvas.
