May all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas residing in the ten directions, with great compassion, listen to the supplication of me, [name of the living person]... [name of the deceased person]. I rejoice in all the roots of virtue of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the three times, and of all ordinary beings. I offer this root of virtue of rejoicing, and this root of virtue that I have done, to all the victorious ones, together with their sons and disciples. By offering in this way, may an inconceivable ocean of offering clouds arise continuously in the three times. With this root of virtue, may I dedicate it entirely to all sentient beings equal to the extent of space. Having obtained it as dedicated, may all sentient beings be endowed with happiness and free from suffering, and quickly attain the precious state of Buddhahood, which knows all aspects. May this root of virtue ripen immediately in the continuum of me, [name of the living person]... [name of the deceased person]. Based on this ripening, may all the sins, obscurations, faults, and downfalls accumulated from beginningless samsara be purified and cleansed. May all the doors of birth in the six realms of samsara be cut off. May I be born in the western realm of Sukhavati without being interrupted by anything else from this life. As soon as I am born, may I directly see the face of Buddha Amitabha and receive the teachings of his speech. Immediately after that, may I be prophesied to supreme enlightenment and attain the first bhumi, the Joyful One. May I train in the vast conduct of a Bodhisattva and serve the victorious Buddha Amitabha as long as he lives. May I completely perfect all the qualities of the paths and bhumis and attain complete and perfect enlightenment. May I attain the state of all-seeing. Having attained it, may I defeat the enemies of faults, and liberate beings from the ocean of existence, turbulent with the waves of birth, old age, sickness, and death. This is a concise dedication that can be adapted for oneself or others, whether living or deceased. It was composed by A-ra-ga to fulfill the aspirations of Dondrup. May there be auspiciousness! By the power of the merit of constructing this volume, and of upholding and reading it, may we, the two brothers and our retinues, and the patrons who provide for our livelihood, have auspiciousness and long life in this life, and may we dedicate this so that we may be reborn in Sukhavati immediately after passing away from here. This was said by the 7th A-ra-ga. Compiled and published by the Nangchen Banggang Craft and Culture Sutra and Tantra Dharma Propagation Ling Ancient Book Restoration Room in Upper Kham.
