Herein is the General Preliminary Practice of the Three Roots from the Namtsho, Mind Treasure, Profound Oral Transmission, Cycle of Peaceful Guru. Om! Thil! GURU DEVA DAKINI HUM! Namo! The Three Jewels and the Three Roots, I take refuge in the places of refuge. In order to establish all beings in Buddhahood, I generate the supreme Bodhicitta. Repeat three times. Myself appearing clearly as Avalokiteshvara, From the radiance of light at my heart, The protectors of the directions, the lords of the land, and the hosts of elementals, Are invoked and appear before me. May the torma in the precious vessel Be transformed into nectar! OM AH HUM! The inherent, the sudden, and those who have arrived, Lords of the place, lords of the land, hosts of elementals, Gather here and accept the offering of the torma. When practicing secret mantra in this place, Do not be jealous or resentful, Support the white side as companions and create harmonious conditions, Banish the black side, the classes of obstructors, elsewhere. If you do not listen and cause harm, You will be destroyed by the wrathful wisdom. Therefore, listen to the command of the admonition. OM SARVA LOKA PALA BALIMTA KHAHI KHAHI! SARVA BIGHNAN GACCHA GACCHA! SAMAYA! GYA GYA GYA! KHA GUHYA! NAMADHA!
