Fifteenth: Explanation of Actions Thoroughly Engaged by Wisdom Fifteenth: Explanation of Actions Thoroughly Engaged by Wisdom Fifteenth (Showing the categories of the three mundane actions): Actions thoroughly engaged by wisdom are the three types of actions of body, speech, and mind that are thoroughly engaged by learning wisdom through skillful means, which arise universally and together with their corresponding factors, and are the nature of the five aggregates. Among these, writing letter forms such as "ka" and carving reliefs of deities and the like are actions of the body. Poetry that includes counting things, such as a single object, is an action of speech. (Together with intention) summing up and holding numbers, such as "ten tens are a hundred," is an action of mind (four aggregates). Thus, it should be understood in order. Furthermore, either arising incidentally while showing letters and the like, or because this is an abridged version of the Dharma Abhidhamma, some categories that appear in the explanation of the Dharma aggregates should be stated: Because they are covered by afflictions (together with intention), they are obscured; because they are together with afflictions, dark, and abandoned by the noble ones, they are bad; because they dwell together with afflictions, they are accompanied by faults. These are the name categories of contaminated dharmas that possess afflictions. Immaculate virtue is called excellent because it reaches the ultimate end of perfect purity. Therefore, "excellent" is a category of uncontaminated virtue. Afflictions are only bad, and uncontaminated virtue is only excellent. Therefore, other than bad and excellent (contaminated virtue and unlabelled-unobscured), are called intermediate. From the perspective of generating in the continuum, what should be respectfully attended to are the categories of all conditioned dharmas, both contaminated and uncontaminated virtues. Other than these, unconditioned dharmas, non-virtue, and obscured-unlabelled are not to be shown. Why are unconditioned dharmas not to be attended to? Because unconditioned dharmas are not to be attended to, since they cannot be generated, nor can they be repeatedly habituated in the continuum, and if attending to them is for the sake of a result, then there is no result in them. Non-virtue, obscured-unlabelled, conditioned-unobscured-unlabelled, and virtue

Defiled sensations, conditioned undefiled sensations, unconditioned, unobscured, unspecified space, non-analytical cessation, and liberation through individual analysis are all superior, each preceding the next, because, in order, there is no undesirable fruition, because they are not afflicted, because they have desirable fruition, because they are not defiled, because they are permanent, and because they are permanent and virtuous. Therefore, all other dharmas have something superior to them, but liberation, nirvana, and individual analytical cessation are unsurpassed because there is nothing more excellent or superior to them. As stated in the sutras: "Monks, among all conditioned or unconditioned dharmas, the best is said to be detachment from desire." From the "Collection of Various Names for Liberation": complete abandonment, definite abandonment, becoming purified, exhaustion, detachment from desire, cessation, complete pacification, extinction, and so on. From the "Nature of the Earth": permanence, stability, reality, unchanging nature, place, island, protection, refuge, ally, happiness, peace, the basis of goodness, transformation into happiness and auspiciousness, immovability, immeasurability, difficulty to observe, immortality, freedom from sorrow, freedom from death, freedom from disease, complete freedom from suffering, health, immobility, transcendence of sorrow, absence of elaboration, and so on. The karma conceived by the mind that creates the world. The distinctions between knowable and unknowable vows, and the intermediate results of karma. Those who wish to understand well should listen here. In the commentary on the Abhidharma Kosha, the Ornament of Manifest Knowledge, this is called the teaching on karma, which is the explanation of the fourth chapter. The fifteenth: Explanation of karma thoroughly entered into by reasoning.
