The way to engage in Dharma teaching and listening, and its benefits. The way to engage in Dharma teaching and listening, and its benefits. Here, our root guru, the King Shakya, possesses the four-membered army of miraculous feet, having defeated the battlefield of Makara's banner. Having gathered the trainable beings into the field of maturation and liberation through the four means of gathering. Thus, for the great Dharma King who turns the wheel of Dharma in all ways without omission, those great representatives who are particularly excellent in both Dharma and politics have maintained this excellent tradition in an upright and virtuous manner. Because this is the basis of benefit and happiness for all beings, including gods, it is appropriate to cherish this way. Moreover, since this cannot be achieved through means other than teaching and practice, and since practice is also preceded by teaching and listening, it is necessary to ascertain the way to engage in teaching and listening. This has four aspects: understanding the benefits of listening to and teaching the sacred Dharma; identifying the Dharma to be listened to and taught; how to practice and experience the way of listening and teaching; and how the Dharma to be realized arises.
